The main purpose of this study is to guide the effectiveness of Expanded Perlite (EP) and Natural Moroccan Clay (NMC) adsorbents in removing cationic textile dyes from solution. To this end, the batch adsorption experiment explored the adsorption of Rhodamine B (RB) by EP and NMC, and therefore the adsorption was accompanied by UV-Vis spectrophotometry technique in an exceedingly specially sorption cell. The effect of temperature on the adsorption isotherm was also evaluated to examine the adsorption phenomenon. Adsorption kinetics was studied by using three different models i.e. pseudo-first-order, pseudosecond-order and intra-particle diffusion model. The findings of kinetic models reveal that the pseudo-second-order model describes well the adsorption process. The removal of dye by the two adsorbents is favorable in the basic medium. The thermodynamic results show that the adsorption process of RB on both adsorbents is spontaneous and endothermic. The results obtained in this work highlight that NMC is more effective than EP for removing of RB dye.
