Rat ggnomic DNA was isohtted by homology with Cdvl, a routine homeogene seleettvely expressed in intestinal eclh ot'endodermal origin. Southern blot analys~s indtcated that the rat genome contains a single or a small number of closely related Cdx gene(s). A major 1.7 kb Cdr mRNA was detected in neonate, suckling and adult rats whereas a 6 5 kb mRNA was restricted to sucklings and adults. Both transcripts showed decreasing concentration from the colon toward~ the proximal part of the small intestine. No obvtous correlation could be established with the patterns of expression of transcripts corresponding to markers of cell proliferation and cell differentmtton during postnatM development.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
