Penggunaan media pembelajaran yang masih manual serta keterbatasan siswa dalam memahami materi dan kurangnya motivasi siswa dalam belajar menyebabkan guru kesulitan dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran. Hal ini perlu adanya pengembangan khususnya pada media pembelajaran animasi 2 dimensi yang tepat harus menjadi kunci utama agar siswa mampu mengikuti pembelajaran dengan baik serta dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian pengembangan media ini adalah (1) sebagai penunjang proses pembelajaran siswa di sekolah menengah atas dalam mempelajari materi bahasa Inggris “Too vs Enough” (2) mampu mengetahui respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran animasi 2 dimensi mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Pengembangan media pembelajaran animasi 2 dimensi mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris kelas X ini menggunakan model MDLC yang terdiri dari enam tahapan yaitu Pengonsepan (Concept), Perancangan (Design), Pengumpulan Bahan (Material Collecting), Pembuatan (Assembly), Pengujian (Testing) dan Distribusi (Distribution). Beberapa pengujian digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat keefektifan media pembelajaran animasi 2 dimensi yang diantaranya adalah uji ahli isi dengan rata-rata hasil perhitungan sebesar 1,00 dan uji ahli media sebesar 0.928 menunjukkan pada kriteria “Valid”, uji perorangan diperoleh persentase 85% yang termasuk dalam kriteria baik, uji kelompok kecil diperoleh presentase 89,1% yang termasuk dalam kriteria baik, uji lapangan diperoleh presentase 82,3% yang termasuk dalam kriteria baik, uji efektivitas diperoleh 77,02% yang termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi.Kata Kunci : Media Pembelajaran, Animasi 2 Dimensi, Bahasa Inggris, MDLC
