Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui inventarisasi jenis aves di kawasan Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon. Metode yang digunakan adalah ecounter rates (tingkat pertemuan) dan metode IPA (Indices Puntuels d’Abondence) atau Point Count. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Juni. Pengambilan data berupa foto/gambar dilakukan 2 kali dalam sehari, yaitu pagi hari pukul 06.00 – 11.00 WIB dan sore hari pukul 15.00 – 18.00 WIB. Pengamatan dilakukan pada 4 stasiun dengan ciri ekosistem yang berbeda, stasiun 1 Pulau Handeleum dengan tipe ekosistem hutan pantai dan lumpur, stasiun 2 Cigenteur dengan tipe ekosistem oleh hutan mangrove, stasiun 3 Pulau Peucang dengan tipe ekosistem hutan hujan tropis dan stasiun 4 Cidaon dengan tipe ekosistem padang pengembalaan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dari keempat stasiun ditemukan 20 jenis aves, stasiun 1 sebanyak 8 aves, stasiun 2 sebanyak 5 aves, stasiun 3 sebanyak 11 aves dan stasiun 4 sebanyak 7 aves. Pada stasiun 1 dan 3 lebih banyak ditemukan aves karena habitat air pantai, hutan lumpur dan hutan hujan tropis merupakan habitat yang mendukung adanya sumber pakan yang melumpah dan banyaknya jenis pohon yang berfungsi untuk belindung dan tempat tinggal. Aves akan berada pada habitat yang memiliki sumberdaya yang melimpah untuk menyokong kebutuhan hidupnya. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa tingkat inventarisasi burung yang tinggi dalam suatu wilayah menunjukkan bahwa wilayah tersebut memiliki kondisi lingkungan yang baik.
