ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi filtrat kecambah kacang hijau dalam pengencer skim milk terhadap kualitas semen sapi Simmental pada suhu dingin. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah semen pejantan sapi Simmental dengan kriteria umur 5-7 tahun dan memiliki motilitas individu ≥50%. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pola Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 kali ulangan. Semen diencerkan dalam pengencer skim milk dengan 4 perlakuan (0%, 2%, 4% dan 6% filtrat kecambah kacang hijau). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan filtrat kecambah kacang hijau ke dalam pengencer skim milk memberikan perbedaan yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap motilitas, viabilitas dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan filtrat kecambah kacang hijau dalam pengencer skim milk tidak dapat mempertahankan kualitas semen cair (motilitas, viabilitas dan abnormalitas) sapi Simmental yang disimpan pada suhu dingin. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah perlu studi lebih lanjut mengenai pengaruh suplementasi filtrat kecambah kacang hijau dalam pengencer skim milk terhadap kualitas semen cair sapi Simmental dengan menggunakan semen segar yang memiliki motilitas awal sesuai standart yaitu ≥70%.Kata kunci: kualitas spermatozoa, semen cair, penyimpanan suhu dingin. ABSTRACTThe purposes of this research was to evaluate the effect of supplementation mung bean sprouts filtrate on diluent skim milk to quality of Simmental bulls semen in cold temperatures. The materials that used were Simmental bulls semen with 5-7 years old and motility ≥50%. Method was used in this research was Randomized Block Design with 4 treatment and 6 replication. Semen was diluted in skim milk diluent with four treatments (0%, 2%, 4% and 6% filtrate of mung bean sprouts). The result of the research showed that filtrate of mung bean sprouts in diluent skim milk was no significant effect (P>0.05) on motility, viability and abnormalities of spermatozoa. The conclusion of this research was additional of mung bean sprouts filtrate in a diluent skim milk was not able to maintain liquid semen quality (motility, viability and abnormalities) of Simmental bulls in cold temperatures. Suggestions for future research was to determine the effect of supplementation mung bean sprouts filtrate on diluent skim milk in cold temperatures was recommended to used semen with motility ≥70%.
