Bu araştırmada, bireylerin finansal kararlarına etki eden faktörlerin ortaya konulması ve bireylerin aldığı kararlar doğrultusunda yaşadıkları finansal gerginlik tespit edilmek istenmiştir. Ayrıca finansal gerginliğin yaşam memnuniyetini hangi ölçüde etkilediğinin test edilmesi de amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, araştırmanın değişkenlerini ölçmeye yönelik ifadelerden oluşan ve online ortamda hazırlanan anket formu Aksaray üniversitesinde eğitim gören öğrencilere mail aracılığı ile dağıtılmış ve 371 gönüllü cevaplayıcı tarafından doldurulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, hesap kontrolü yapan bireylerin kendilerini finansal açıdan gergin hissetmediği ve yaşam memnuniyetlerinin yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca gider yönetiminin finansal gerginlik üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of the study is to define the probable effects of compulsive buying on financial well-being as well as the effects of materialism, hedonic consumption, budgeting, self-esteem, status consumption levels of the individuals on compulsive buying. The related field has been presented with lots of studies in the literature, in which the individuals", having high level materialism, hedonic consumption and status consumption together with low level budgeting capability and self-esteem, trend on compulsive buying has been increased but this increase has a negatively affected the financial well-being. It has been aimed with this study to test that whether these effects in Turkey show parallelism with the international literature or not. A questionnaire with 66 questions has been used during the study for data collection; feedback has been received from 266 people. According to the analyses conducted via the usage of the data, positive effect of certrality of materialism on compulsive buying has been detected whereas the other dimensions of materialism have no meaningful effect. Besides, hedonic consumption and status consumption have positive effects on compulsive buying whereas budgeting and self-esteem have negative effects on compulsive buying. On the other hand it has been detected that compulsive buying has a negative effect on current financial situation dimension of financial well-being.
