This study demonstrates an analysis of executives based on their management competences. The aim of the study is to identify those executives that show a greater strategic alignment with the guidelines set by an organization. The analysis is performed using self-evaluation and corporate evaluation by considering each management competence as a criterion. It makes use of the Dominance principle (i.e., the Dominancebased Rough Set Approach, denoted here as DRSA). The use of DRSA permits the inference of decision rules and identifies the revisions that violate that principle. The main advantage for an organization from using this procedure (i.e., DRSA and RST) is offering the organizational decision makers a comprehensive analysis of their executives. As a major result, training programs aligned to the expectations and needs of the organization can be developed and implemented.
This study deals about decision-making with replicated and inconsistent data, relating to the universe of Human Resources, within a domestic financial institution. Replication occurs because of technical and/or economic questions, and seeks to meet corporate and departmental requirements of such an institution. As research methodology, direct observation of such inconsistencies was used as well as a simulation based on actual data which would reflect replication with inconsistencies. The authors introduce an application of a multi-criteria method to render the decision-making process rational, and was transformed into an element that stimulated this study. The method used was the Rough Set Theory (RST). An algorithm was developed to indicate the equivalence relations, lower and higher approximations, borderline region, accuracy measure, reducts and core and was subsequently implemented into a software
The present study aims to map the sustainability and performance evaluation models for energy companies regarding their qualitative and quantitative aspects of corporate governance. This research was carried out through a systematic literature review and the establishment of connections between the issues raised and general aspects of corporate governance, vis-à-vis the sustainable development matter. Aspects of corporate governance, such as gender diversity in the creation of boards of directors and directors in companies, is relevant in view of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the ISO 26000 standard, regarding guidelines on corporate social responsibility. As an innovation in this mapping, a summary of the main qualitative and quantitative aspects of corporate governance is carried out using the clustering technique and co-occurrence map, mining and text analysis, compared to sustainability and performance evaluation models for energy companies. At the end, gaps in these models are pointed out referring to national and international organizations and studies regarding intersectoral principles, practices and tools of corporate governance; opportunities for improvement are also pointed out.
