Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional pada materi segiempat jika ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dan desain yang digunakan adalah The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 4 Tualang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII.4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII.6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Purposive Sampling. Untuk melihat hasil penelitian tersebut, digunakan rumus Chi Kuadrat untuk menguji normalitas data, kemudian digunakan rumus uji-t (test-t) untuk mengetahui hasil penelitian dan anova dua jalan (two-way anova) untuk melihat interaksi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, didapat kesimpulan bahwa: 1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, yaitu antara siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dengan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional, 2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis antara siswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah 3) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dengan kemandirian belajar siswa terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Secara umum, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar siswa SMP Negeri 4 Tualang.
