Drei Wege der analytischen Literaturwissenschaft 111 AXEL SPREE Drei Wege der analytischen Literaturwissenschaft Dieser Aufsatz 1 unternimmt den Versuch einer Präzisierung des Ausdrucks »analytische Literaturwissenschaft«. Dies ist schwieriger als es scheinen mag: nicht nur, weil die analytische Literaturwissenschaft, wie die entsprechenden Artikel in den einschlägigen Handbüchern und Lexika belegen, keine klar umgrenzte literaturwissenschaftliche ›Schule‹ darstellt -es handelt sich dabei vielleicht nicht einmal um ›Literaturwissenschaft‹ im eigentlichen Sinne. Zur Präzisierung des Ausdrucks bieten sich verschiedene Möglichkeiten an: Zum einen könnte man versuchen, auf der Grundlage vorliegender Bestimmungen sowie der historischen Entwicklung und der aktuellen Situation eine allgemeine Charakterisierung der analytischen Literaturwissenschaft vorzunehmen: eine Sichtung vorhandener Begriffsbestimmungen mit anschließender Explikation. Man könnte zum anderen anhand von klaren und eindeutigen Beispielen, also anhand der Arbeiten von unbestritten wichtigen oder sogar zentralen Vertretern der analytischen Literaturwissenschaft einige typische Probleme, Vorgehensweisen und Lösungen vorstellen, hoffend, dass sich diese exemplarischen Hinweise zu einem einigermaßen einheitlichen Bild zusammensetzen lassen.Ich werde im folgenden beide Wege beschreiten. Im ersten Abschnitt gehe ich zunächst auf die Schwierigkeiten einer genauen Bestimmung der analytischen Literaturwissenschaft ein; daran anschließend mache ich Vorschläge zu einer Präzisierung des Ausdrucks. Im zweiten Abschnitt werde ich drei Wege der deutschsprachigen analytischen Literaturwissenschaft anhand von drei ihrer wichtigsten, vielleicht der wichtigsten Vertreter kurz vorstellen: Werner Strube, Gottfried Gabriel und Harald Fricke. 2 Im dritten Abschnitt soll dann vor dem Hintergrund dieser Darstellung eine Charakterisierung des gegenwärtigen Zu-1 Der Text beruht auf einem Vortrag, der am 14.
