Pobreza Menstrual (PM) é um termo novo que vem sendo discutido amplamente e refere-se à instabilidade do acesso a absorventes, à falta de recursos para garantir a dignidade das pessoas que menstruam e à falta de informação sobre o que é, como ocorre e a importância do ciclo menstrual. Nesse contexto, o presente artigo tem como objetivo traçar um perfil e descrever a situação vivenciada por mulheres em um hospital de Macapá quanto a pobreza menstrual. Para isso, realizou-se a aplicação de questionário às mulheres que estavam internadas no Hospital Maternidade Mãe Luzia. Como resultados, verificou-se que 23,1% das entrevistadas não têm acesso a absorventes higiênicos no período menstrual sempre que precisam. 78,2% já utilizaram algum material alternativo para conter o fluxo menstrual. Quanto ao perfil das entrevistadas, constatou-se que 54,6% recebem menos de 1 salário-mínimo por mês. 88,6% autodeclaram-se pretas ou pardas. 41,9% têm de 18 a 25 anos e 29,3% têm entre 26 e 30 anos. Além disso, 96,9% declararam ser a favor da distribuição gratuita e irrestrita de absorventes pelo Sistema Único de Saúde – SUS. Por fim, concluiu-se que grande parte das mulheres que lidam com a pobreza menstrual e com as suas consequências, são de baixa renda, recebem menos de um salário-mínimo, são pretas ou pardas, têm baixa escolaridade e possuem dificuldades para ter acesso à absorventes higiênicos com constância, colocando em risco sua saúde e dignidade.
