To analyze the density of the current induced in the human body by the coupling phenomena of the ac electric field and the human body, the integral-equation method and the finiteelement method have been proposed. However, there is no effective method for the analysis of the induced current density including the directional component in the model with a threedimensional human body shape by taking into account the conductivity of human tissues. The authors have developed a method for the analysis of the induced current density in the threedimensional shape model by a two-step process consisting of: (1) the derivation of the induced current flowing in from the surface of the human model by the surface charge method; and (2) the application of these values as the boundary values of the finiteelement method using an isoparametric hexahedral element. The model can analyze the induced current density in the model by directly considering the conductivity and the permittivity of the human tissues. The results of the analysis of the induced current density in the present model have been confirmed from the experimental results of the metallic human model with the identical shape.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
