The research sought to determine the attitude of student nurses towards their clinical placement: clinical learning environment, communication with supervisor – mentor, and their satisfaction with the recently completed clinical placement. The research was performed by 283 students of the first to third study year from two Northwest regional higher education institutions for nurses in Lithuania. The students have recently completed their clinical placement at regional hospitals. A quantitative descriptive correlational design was used. The research instrument used was the paper version of the CLES (Clinical Learning Environment and Supervision) questionnaire. The research results revealed that more than half of the students were satisfied with their recently completed clinical placement. Their satisfaction was related to the study year. The student nurses were the most positive about the possibility to approach the members of staff during clinical placement and the fact that there were sufficient meaningful learning cases and situations during clinical placement. Clinical placement of the student nurses was supervised and assessed by supervisors – registered nurses (N=133) and ward managers (N=135). The student nurses assessed their personal contribution in clinical placement as good and very good. Those, who specified the highest personal contribution in their clinical placement, assessed the clinical learning environment the best. The most satisfied students were supervised individually during their clinical placements.
Sveikatos priežiūros darbuotojų didelė fizinė ir psichologinė įtampa didina profesinio perdegimo riziką. Lietuvoje daugėja pranešimų apie sveikatos priežiūros darbuotojų, ypač slaugytojų, emocinį išsekimą, abejingumą slaugomiems pacientams. Darbo tikslas – nustatyti slaugytojų profesinio perdegimo ir jį lemiančių veiksnių sąsajas. Atliktas kiekybinis tyrimas, naudojant MBI (angl. Maslach burnout inventory) ir AWS (angl. Areas of worklife survey) kintamųjų skales.
There is a lack of data about oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among the parents of pre-school children, especially in Lithuania and the relationships among socio-economic status, oral care habits and OHRQoL. Research questions: is OHRQoL influenced by socioeconomic status or oral care habits? Research focus – oral health-related quality of life among the parents of pre-school children. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationships among socioeconomic status, oral care habits and oral helath-related quality of life among the parents of pre-school children in Klaipeda. The study sample consisted of 375 parents (mother or father) of pre-school children. The questionnaire survey was conducted at randomly selected 23 kindergartens in Klaipeda city. The questionnaire consisted of sociodemographic and oral care habits questions. All the participants were examined by self-administered OIDP questionnaire, which measured oral impacts on physical, psychological and social aspects of daily performances. The highest overall impact on OHRQoL among the parents of pre-school children was observed in the domain of Carrying out major work or role (73.0), the lowest one in the Eating and enjoying food (25.74) domain. Mean OIDP score was significantly higher among the parents whose socioeconomic status was low (35.44), reflecting poorer OHRQoL, as compared with high (8.07) socioeconomic status. Parents with poor oral care habits significantly more frequently were affected (79.2%) in Smiling, laughing domain, as compared to the parents whose oral care habits were good (20.8%). Lower socioeconomic status and poorer oral care habits were related with worsened oral health-related quality of life, especially in the area of psychological performances.
Taikytas klausimynas CLES (angl. Clinical Learning Environment and Supervision).
