A lecturer with a good performance has a positive impact on the quality of teaching and learning. The said quality includes the delivery of teaching materials, learning methods, and ultimately the academic results of students. Performance of lecturers contributes significantly to the quality of research and community service which in turn improves the quality of teaching materials. It is desirable, therefore, to have a method to measure the performance of lecturers in carrying out the Tri Dharma (or the three responsibility) activities, which consist of teaching and learning process, research, and community service activities, including publications at both national and international level. This study seeks to measure the performance of lecturers and cluster them into three categories, namely "satisfactory", "good", and "poor". Data were taken from academic works of nursing study program lecturers in conducting academic activities. Clustering process is carried out using two machine learning approaches, which is K-Means and K-Medoids algorithms. Evaluation of the clustering results suggests that K-Medoids algorithm performs better compared to using K-Means. DBI score for clustering techniques using K-Means is -0.417 while the score for K-Medoids is -0.652. The significant difference in the score shows that K-Medoids algorithm works better in determining the performance of lecturers in carrying out Tri Dharma activities.
The development of information technology can no longer be solved by everyday life. Smart concepts based on information technology continue to be developed and applied through smart cities to smaller areas of smart villages. Development of infrastructure and internet networks supporting the concept of smart villages in empowering the community one of which is in the field of tourism. The increase in village income is carried out in the form of capacity development, skills, independence, empowerment, and community development in the field of information technology. The community is expected to discover the potential of villages supported by the application of information technology to improve the standard of living and quality of life of the Aikdewa village community. Smart villages provide support in order to raise awareness and interest in the economic, social and cultural aspects to be raised as economic assets that can increase people's income in order to obtain a more prosperous life. Smart villages can also foster and enhance partnerships to acquire various skills (administration, education, and information technology) so as to develop good collaboration in developing, empowering, and increasing the independence of tourism businesses as one of the pillars of the family economy.
The current Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on every aspect of people's lives, including the education. Restrictions on activities at the outside cause the current learning process to be carried out at home using the online method. This method is also applied in higher education in Nursing, especially in disaster nursing courses. In order for the learning process to be well absorbed by students, creative and effective learning tools are needed. Based on this, researchers will conduct research on the development of a Web-based Triage Games application as a learning tools for disaster triage during the COVID-19 pandemic for nursing students. Research and development methods apply the ADDIE model, that consist of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The application that has been developed is then tested on 90 undergraduate Nursing students who are taking the seventh semester. The purpose of the research is to develop a Web-based Triage Game application, determine the effectiveness of its use as a learning medium and determine student assessments of the Web-based Triage Game application learning media. The results of the research on web-based triage game applications were well developed, the applications proved effective (N Gain Score >75%) in improving student learning outcomes and more than 50% of students stated that triage game applications were creative and innovative and could increase learning motivation. Conclusion: triage game application is effective as a learning media for disaster triage during a pandemic
The hybrid energy storage systems are a practical tool to solve the issues in single energy storage systems in terms of specific power supply and high specific energy. These systems are especially applicable in electric and hybrid vehicles. Applying a dynamic and coherent strategy plays a key role in managing a hybrid energy storage system. The data obtained while driving and information collected from energy storage systems can be used to analyze the performance of the provided energy management method. Most existing energy management models follow predetermined rules that are unsuitable for vehicles moving in different modes and conditions. Therefore, it is so advantageous to provide an energy management system that can learn from the environment and the driving cycle and send the needed data to a control system for optimal management. In this research, the machine learning method and its application in increasing the efficiency of a hybrid energy storage management system are applied. In this regard, the energy management system is designed based on machine learning methods so that the system can learn to take the necessary actions in different situations directly and without the use of predicted select and run the predefined rules. The advantage of this method is accurate and effective control with high efficiency through direct interaction with the environment around the system. The numerical results show that the proposed machine learning method can achieve the least mean square error in all strategies.
The purpose of this research was to develop e-learning media for ESP learning of English for Nursing Students. The development of English for specific needs has rapidly increased as the demand for tailor-made language learning raised. Following the current trend of industrial revolution 4.0, the need of ESP e-learning media is critically necessary. The study used Research & Development (R&D) model. There are some stages in R&D model namely (1) Research and Information Collecting, (2) Planning, (3) Developing Preliminary Form of Product, (4) Preliminary Field Testing, (5) Main Product Revision, (6) Main Field Testing, (7) Operational Product Revision, (8) Operational Field Testing, (9) Final Product Revision and (10) Dissemination and Implementation. However, due to the limitation of the study, only five stages were conducted. The results indicated that the product of e-learning media for ESP learning of English for Nursing students was ready to use
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
