Résumé Dans cet article, les rapports au politique des jeunes en Égypte sont analysés à partir de la notion de carrière publique. Cette dernière permet de mettre l’accent sur les étapes et les aléas des cheminements au sein de l’espace public en contexte autoritaire. Basé sur l’analyse de sept profils de jeunes, le propos s’attache à rendre compte de la diversité et de la fluctuation des rapports au politique. Ainsi, il s’agit autant de montrer que ces rapports peuvent être vécus comme évidents, utiles ou encore comme contraignants que d’insister sur les caractéristiques des trajectoires obliques, à savoir des trajectoires des individus qui portent une attention ponctuelle et limitée à la chose publique.
