Prosperous sociaty in terms of livelihoods and having high income to fulfi ll all their needs are absolute desires, so they can avoid poverty, especially for people in rural areas whose lives depend on livestock farming, such as fi sh farmers. To avoid poverty, people need a program to be developed their knowledge and insight, with the aim of increasing their business income, as was done by a group of catfi sh farmers in Kampung Coban, Desa Kanigoro, Kecematan Pagelaran, Kabupaten Malang. Improving the knowledge and insight refered to solve their problems faced, namely the high of production and long harvest period; lack of knowledge and skills on how to select superior seeds and seedlings; and the lack of knowledge and skills in profi table business management. The program activities used social interactive methods in the form of coaching or mentoring and designing their own feed making tools. Based on the results of the activities of using tools and guidance, the catfi sh farmers can make their own feed mixed with factory feed, and increase the income.
The prosperous and decent to need of both primary and secondary necessaries life are absolutely needed by every family. So they endeavor to increase their abilities to obtain subsist prosperity by entrepreneurship, as handicraft businesses, palm broom, that made by people in Krajan Hamlet, Kanigoro Village, Pagelaran District, Malang Regency. But for reaching the independent business, they meet many obstacles, such as producted quality lower than factory production; low market opportunities, and business governance out of standardized. Constraints faced by palm broom craftsmen in Krajan Hamlet, Kanigoro Village, occur without guidance and attention from the government. So that we as academics/lecturers take the initiative to foster the broom fibers craftsmen through the Community Service Program in order to improve the quality of their products, penetrate the wider market, and home industry management with good governance.
Management makes many strategic decisions that have an impact on the performance of the company. Decision-making carried out by management allows for decision-making bias. Our research seeks to gain a further understanding of the managerial phenomenon of myopia, where previous empirical research has been very limited and conceptual. This study aims to analyze the influence of managerial myopia on financial performance in microfinance institutions. This decision-making bias is a concern because of the impact it causes and is often not realized by many managers. Methodology This research uses explanatory research that emphasizes the relationship between research variables through hypothesis testing. Research variables include temporal myopia, spatial myopia, failure myopia, and financial performance. Data collection was carried out using structured questionnaires, and analysis was performed using PLS-SEM with SMART-PLS software. The results showed that managerial myopia (temporal, spatial, and failure) negatively affects financial performance. These results indicate that the biased practices of management may affect the company's financial performance. This study contributes to the financial literature on managerial myopia by analyzing the influence of managerial myopia on financial performance, thereby increasing understanding of the phenomenon of managerial myopia in microfinance institutions, where previous research was still limited. Managers can easily use the indicators we developed to assess managerial myopia as metrics for each type of myopia. These empirical results serve as an impetus for myopic managers to redirect their behavior and help convince sustainability-oriented managers to stay on track.
