A preliminary experiment was carried out to analyse the growth performance of P.eous mushroom cultures using different oil cakes and supplements aqueous extracts. Eight cereal/pulse grains viz., Tur, Gram, Wheat, Bajra, Mung, Soybean and Maize and aqueous extracts of eight de-oilcakes (DOC) viz., Cotton seed cake, Neem seed cake, Karanj seed cake, Castor cake, Safflower cake, Groundnut cake and Soybean cake were used. Cotton seed cake aqueous extract was recorded maximum colony diameter of P. eous both at 5% and 10% conc. and it was superior over other oil cakes aqueous extract used in this experiment. Soybean flour aqueous extract was recorded maximum colony diameter of P. eous both at 5% and 10% conc. and it was superior over other supplements aqueous extract used in this experiment.
Powdery mildew of chilli incited by Leveillula taurica is one of the most serious diseases of chilli. Field experiment was carried out to know the effect of different botanicals against powdery mildew of chilli during kharif, 2015. Seven botanicals namely Onion, Garlic, Tulsi, Turmeric, NSKE, Neem and Mehndi were tested against powdery mildew of chilli. Among the seven treatments minimum per cent disease incidence recorded in garlic (T2) (37.14%) followed by Tulsi (T3) (38.75%), Turmeric (T4) (40.05%), NSKE (T5) (41.82%), Neem (T6) (42.60%), Onion (T1) (44.71%) and Mehndi (T7) (46.56%). Highest per cent disease incidence recorded in control (T8) (56.21%).
A preliminary experiment was carried out to analyse the growth performance of P. eous mushroom cultures using different media. Eight culture media viz., Ashby's manitol agar, yeast extract agar, yeast manitol agar, Corn meal agar, Potato dextrose agar, potato malt agar, Czapek's dox agar and Malt extract agar were used. The maximum colony diameter of P. eous was recorded on potato dextrose agar (90 mm), followed by Malt extract agar (88.16), Yeast manitol agar (87.50 mm), Yeast extract agar (86.33 mm),Corn meal agar (86.10), Potato malt extract (85.66) and minimum colony diameter was recorded on Ashby's manitol agar (14.66 mm) which was lesser than Czapek's dox agar (85.30 mm).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
