Bu araştırmanın amacı farklı lise türlerinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin eğitim ve geleceğe dair algılarını demografik, sosyal ve ekonomik özellikleriyle ilişkilendirerek belirlemeye çalışmaktır. Araştırmada farklı lise türlerindeki öğrencilerin eğitim ve yaşam algıları üzerinden lise türlerinin toplumsal sınıfların yeniden üretimi temelinde farklılaştığı ortaya konmaya çalışılmaktadır. Araştırma olgu bilim desenine uygun olarak tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmacıların oluşturduğu yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile farklı lise türlerine devam eden 33 öğrenciyle görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan görüşmelerde farklı lise türlerindeki öğrencilerin eğitim ve yaşam algıları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Verilerin içerik analizi NVİVO 12 programı ile yapılmıştır. Bulgular araştırmanın alt problemleri dikkate alınarak kategori ve temalar altında toplanmıştır. Araştırmada farklı lise türlerindeki öğrencilerin farklı toplumsal köken özelliklerine sahip oldukları, aile özelliklerinin eğitim hayatları üzerinde etkili olduğu ve gelecekteki yaşam beklentilerinin lise türlerine göre farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir. Lise öğrencileri okullarının gelecekte ulaşmayı bekledikleri yaşam ve meslekleri sağlamada basamak olduğu bilincindedirler. Daha yoksul toplumsal kökenden gelen öğrencilerin mesleki-teknik lise ve imam hatip liselerinde, görece daha iyi toplumsal köken özelliklerine sahip öğrencilerin fen lisesinde olduğu gözlenmiştir. Okulların ortaöğretime geçiş sınavındaki akademik başarı düzeyi ile olası meslek, kazanç ve toplumsal statü gibi getirilerinin birbiriyle örtüştüğü gözlenmiştir. Fen lisesi öğrencilerinin yaşamdan beklentileri daha yüksektir; diğer yandan başarı düştükçe öğrencilerin meslek ve yaşam beklentileri de düşmektedir.
