Os stocks Mocambo e Frutuoso têm área de 3 km2, possuem formas alongadas, ocorrem intrusivos em rochas metassedimentares da porção centro-leste do Domínio Macururé nas quais provoca metamorfismo de contato. O stock Mocambo é composto de quartzo-dioritos e quartzo-monzodioritos. O stock Frutuoso é formado por quartzo-dioritos porfiríticos. Os quartzo-dioritos e quartzo-monzodioritos apresentam foliação magmática NE-SW paralela à foliação metamórfica regional. Os dados obtidos neste estudo sugerem que esses stocks tenham sido intrusivos em estágio cedo a sincrônico à deformação regional. O stock Mocambo tem idade de cristalização de 614 ± 7 Ma (U-Pb, Shrimp). Enclaves microgranulares dioríticos são presentes nos dois stocks, e as estruturas e texturas indicam interação entre magmas máfico e félsico. As análises petrográficas e químicas em minerais permitiram identificar a presença de oligoclásio, albita, biotita primária reequilibrada, tschermaquita, Mg-hornblenda, epídoto, allanita, ilmenita e magnetita. A cristalização magmática do anfibólio cálcico foi a ~29 km (8 kbar) sob condições oxidantes. As rochas estudadas apresentam afinidade shoshonítica, são magnesianas e podem estar relacionadas a magmas hidratados e oxidantes gerados em um ambiente orogênico. As semelhanças geoquímicas entre os dois stocks indicam que eles são cogenéticos. Os dados químicos evidenciam que as rochas dos stocks Mocambo e Frutuoso apresentam assinaturas geoquímicas de rochas potássicas geradas pelo manto em ambiente de arco continental, com contribuição de manto astenosférico dada a quebra da placa oceânica descendente.
