The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of nitrone is one of the most important methods for the synthesis of different sizes of heterocycles which have enormous applications in natural products, biologically active molecules and pharmaceuticals.
Indole heterocycles constitute the structural framework of innumerable biologically active molecules and natural products having drug-like properties and other biochemical utilities. These compounds have been extensively studied by synthetic and medicinal chemists and various synthetic strategies have been established using indole-2-carboxaldehyde derivatives as a starting material. In this review we elaborately report indole-2-carboxaldehydes as a starting material for the synthesis of diversified indole scaffolds in the last decade (2010)(2011)(2012)(2013)(2014)(2015)(2016)(2017)(2018)(2019).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
