The article presents a case study; an analysis and a proposal concerning the improvement of the conditions of occupational health and safety in a reloading terminal of a logistics company. The specificity of the workplace means that employees are exposed to a permanent overload of the musculoskeletal system, which is determined in the process of transporting loads of significant mass. After the analysis, the introduction of changes in the conditions of safe and hygienic work at selected positions was suggested. Qualitative research using the observation method, as well as a quantitative approach after introducing changes in working conditions show a change in employees’ attitudes to their work, as well as their higher performance. After a year of operation of the proposed and introduced changes, it was decided to introduce them for new employees and external companies working at the transshipment terminal.
The article raises the issue of risk assessment and its impact on the quality and safety of work. During the assessment of the turning lathe position additional components associated with the jobs personalization were taken into account. Paragraph 2 item 7 of the Regulation of the Minister of Laborr and Social Policy of 26 September 1997 on general safety regulations defines occupational risk as the likelihood of an adverse event. The authors drew attention to the reality of the accident, which sometimes depends on the predisposition of the employee. It turns out that a correct estimation of the probability of occurrence of the accident to be able to react in a timely way seems extremely important.. This parameter will be assessed more accurately if we take into account a number of additional components resulting from the characteristics of the employee. Abstract.A continuous technological progress forces an improvement of the production process. The article describes the sole beginning of changes in the process of tires retreading on the 5S management method with regard to health and safety standards. The authors point out that the process of the production of retreaded tires is associated with the relationship between a man and a machine. The process improvement can dispense only by improving the machines but it should also pay attention to the man. The improvement of the production process must precede the audit, which can show areas that require intervention. Any such change in the production process cannot be performed without the participation of health and safety inspector, because his knowledge, skills and competence are able to determine whether the proposed changes interfere with the level of safety at the workplace. The authors emphasize that the process of production improvement production should be compatible with the process of improving the health and safety of workers involved in the production process. The combination of 5S audit with health and safety standards results in a holistic approach to the improvement process.

Ważnym, aczkolwiek często niedostrzeganym elementem budowania strategii jest zarz ądzanie bezpieczeństwem i higieną pracy. Budowanie strategii zarządzania BHP w przedsiębiorstwie obywa się przy współudziale służby BHP, która określa stan bezpieczeństwa w środowisku pracy oraz wskazuje możliwości jego poprawy. Współdziałanie z pracodawcą oraz kierownictwem pozwala na wykształcenie odpowiednich mechanizmów, które mają na celu poprawę bezpieczeństwa środowiska pracy. Przedmiotem opracowania jest budowa strategii zarządzania BHP w wybranym przedsiębiorstwie.
Thanks to the widespread use of smartphones, romantic couples can connect with their partners from virtually anywhere, at any time. Remote communication may be particularly important to long-distance relationships (LDRs), compared to geographically close relationships (GCRs). The goals of the current research were to examine differences between LDRs and GCRs in (1) the patterns of remote communication (video calls, voice calls, and texting), and (2) how frequency and responsiveness of remote communication are related to relationship satisfaction. Data were drawn from an online survey of emerging adults (n = 647) who were in a relationship or dating someone (36.5% were in an LDR). Participants in LDRs engaged in more frequent video calling, voice calling, and texting, compared to those in GCRs. LDR participants also perceived their partners to be more responsive during video and voice calls, compared to GCR participants. More frequent and responsive texting predicted significantly greater relationship satisfaction among participants in LDRs, but not GCRs. Meanwhile, frequency of voice calls was associated with greater relationship satisfaction in GCRs, but not in LDRs. The use of video calls was not related to relationship satisfaction in either group. Overall, study findings add to a sparse literature on remote communication in romantic couples and suggest a uniquely positive role of texting within LDRs. Further research is needed to examine the ways in which LDR and GCR couples can best capitalize on different forms of remote technology to maintain their relationships during periods of separation.
