RESUMOO presente estudo tem como objeto analisar os desafios e as perspectivas de sustentabilidade na implantação de programas de coleta seletiva. Para alcançar o objetivo proposto, foram analisados os desafios de uma boa gestão de resíduos sólidos, diminuindo a sustentabilidade dos projetos que visam assegurar as políticas da administração compartilhada entre o público e o privado. Na pesquisa apresentada, foi utilizado o método qualitativo, sendo sua análise de natureza descritiva, fundamentada em pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. As reflexões referentes à uma boa gestão de resíduos sólidos urbanos, que evoquem a boa operacionalização de um programa de coleta seletiva, indica que os municípios deveriam oferecer aos cidadãos uma infraestrutura que colaborasse com o programa de coleta seletiva, carecendo estrutura sanitária, água, luz, telefone, vias pluviais, centros de saúde, educação ambiental, vias pavimentadas, entre outras realidades ainda muito distantes do contexto de muitas cidades brasileiras.

A aprendizagem baseada em problemas (ABP) representa uma das estratégias de ensino mais exploradas nos últimos anos. Seu processo didático-pedagógico tem o aluno como centro, na perspectiva de se utilizar situações-problema no processo de aprendizagem para estimular a construção de conhecimento e compreensão de conceitos. Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a utilização da ABP como estratégia metodológica no ensino a distância, tendo a figura do tutor como propositor dessa ferramenta nas ações de aprendizagem. Para tanto, busca-se uma aproximação entre estes aspectos a partir de fontes bibliográficas. As considerações apontadas no processo de elaboração deste artigo sugerem que a utilização da ABP como metodologia didático-pedagógica no ensino realizado a distância pode gerar maior envolvimento dos alunos e auxiliar um processo formativo mais significativo e efetivo. Essa constatação parte das premissas de que a ABP, voltada para o ensino com foco no aluno, favorece o processo de desenvolvimento de autonomia, criatividade e criticidade no processo de escolha e de resolução de problemas.
