The present study explored the relationship between perceived organizational justice, job satisfaction and organization commitment using a field sample. Sample for the present study consisted of 128 employees working in medical college. Regression analysis of the data obtained indicated that distributive justice was significantly related to job satisfaction whereas procedural justice was not found to be related significantly with job satisfaction. Also both distributive justice and procedural justice were found to be significantly related to organization commitment. Theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed.
The aim of the present study is to explore the linkages between personality and organization citizenship behavior (OCB) using a field sample. Big-Five personality model was used to explore the relationship between personality and OCB. The participants in the study were 187 doctors working in medical college in north India. Four of the 'big five' factors except Neuroticism were positively correlated with OCB. Hierarchical regression analysis on data after controlling for demographic variables indicated that, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism were valid predictors for OCB. However, Openness to experience showed no significant relationship with overall measure of OCB. Theoretical and practical implications of the study are discussed.
Workplace bullying is a universal threat with statistics available at global level prominently suggesting that this phenomenon is thriving like a pandemic worldwide. Limited literature on workplace bullying from Indian perspective can be attributed to the paucity of standardized tools for investigating its prevalence. This study reports validation, psychometric properties, and cutoff scores for Negative Acts Questionnaire-Revised (NAQ-R) in Indian sample (N = 1,053). Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) revealed a best fit three-factor model of work-related bullying, person-related bullying, and physically intimidating bullying NAQ-R demonstrated high reliability and validity using CFA and Pearson's correlation with measures of burnout, work engagement, and perceived victimization. Two cutoff points for NAQ-R were formulated using receiver operating characteristic curve for categorizing respondents as "never bullied" (scores below 40), "occasionally bullied" (scores between 40 and 56), and "severely bullied" (scores above 56). Based on these scores, 46% of the employees were found being bullied at work, either occasionally or frequently. NAQ-R is a valid and psychometrically sound measure to examine workplace bullying in India. Clear cutoff scores may help practitioners in designing prevention and intervention strategies. As NAQ-R is the most extensively tried and tested measure of workplace bullying worldwide, the findings of the study may facilitate cross-cultural comparisons.
We give the details of symplectic quantization for a system containing second class constraints. This method is appropriate for imposing infinite series of constraints due to the boundary conditions. We use this method for massive bosonic strings in a background B-field and find the correct expansions of the fields in terms of the physical modes. We have found a canonical basis for this model.
Introduction: Adolescence is amongst the most rapid stage of human development. It is the period to create knowledge and skills, learn to mange emotions, obtain attributes and capacities and relationships with parents and peers. All these aspects are important for enjoying these years and assuming the roles of adults. The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between parental attachment, self-esteem and psychological wellbeing of adolescents. Methods: The participants were 292 adolescents with age ranging from 13 to 18 years. Inventory for parent and peer attachment (IPPA) by Armsden and Greenberg self-esteem scale by Rosenberg and psychological wellbeing scale by Ryff were used to measure the parental attachment, self-esteem, and psychological wellbeing in adolescents. Result: Results indicated that the the correlation value of parental attachment and psychological wellbeing was found be 0.306. The value of correlation value for self-esteem and psychological wellbeing was found to be 0.342. Conclusion: Significant positive relationship was found between parental attachment, self-esteem, and psychological wellbeing. The mediation analysis has shown that self-esteem partially mediates the relationship between parental attachment and psychological wellbeing among adolescents.
