AbsztraktNémetország Európa vezető gazdasági hatalma, centrumállam sok szempontból. Célunk bemutatni, hogy ez a szerep hogyan jelentkezik a társadalmi és gazdasági aktivitás egyre fontosabb területén, a sportban illetve a labdarúgásban? Hogyan változott az ország szerepe az európai futball térképén? A vizsgált periódus az 1960 és 2021 közötti évek, a labdarúgó-Európa-bajnokságok időszaka. 16 kontinenstorna statisztikáinak segítségével igyekszünk megválaszolni azt, hogy Európa első gazdasági hatalma a futballban is az élen áll-e? A játékosmigráció adatai alapján arra is választ adunk, hogy milyen vonzereje van a német futballgazdaságnak a földrészen, ebben milyen regionális különbségek mutathatóak ki? Kiemelt kérdés, mennyire érvényesül a földrajzi közelség, a hasonló kultúra a sportolói vándorlásban? A vizsgálatok szempontjából fontos a téma nemzetközi és német jogi környezetének feltárása, hiszen ezek a játékosáramlást befolyásolják. A jogi környezet változásaiban van számos csomópont, melyek összefüggnek Európa jelenkori történetével. Az integráció bővülése és mélyítése is fontos változásokat hozott a kontinensen, de a sportban illetve a sportgazdaságban is. Így ezeknek a vizsgálatával arra is választ kapunk, hogy az EU, illetve önmagában Európa expanzióját (európaizáció) hogyan segítették a kontinens labdarúgó életének változásai. A tanulmány alapján elmondható, hogy Németország az eredményesség tekintetében az elmúlt évtizedekben egyértelműen a kontinens labdarúgásának centrumállama volt. A centrumszerep, fogadóállamként a játékosmigrációban is érvényesült, igaz a német futball vonzerője kisebb mint az angolé, és nem is terjed ki minden régióra a kontinensen.
