Measurement of a rotational deformity using a SP app was significantly more accurate and consistent than both VE and OT. We believe the currently available SP technology provides orthopaedic surgeons with a significantly better alternative method of determining the magnitude of rotational deformity when performing corrective osteotomies.
Traumatic allogenic bone implantation is becoming increasingly common in the setting of road trauma and suicide bombings. We present a unique case where a large bony fragment from one individual became embedded in the arm of another person following a "head-on" collision involving two motorbikes. Several management issues are outlined.
Introduction: Five patients presented to the emergency department of a tertiary referral teaching hospital with atraumatic fractures of their humerus sustained during a recreational dodgeball tournament. Case Presentation: The patients were young healthy individuals that described the fracture occurring during the act of throwing. Conclusions: The causes leading to fracture of the humerus during the act of a throw are discussed and the management strategies utilized.
