Cet article cherche à problématiser une expérience sociale dans laquelle les deux auteurs sont impliqués : l’occupation d’un immeuble par près de 250 personnes exilées. Le protagoniste d’une telle expérience est l’« Amphi Z », un collectif hétérogène réunissant des personnes migrantes et leurs soutiens. Le nouage de deux luttes politiques – pour le droit au logement et pour les droits des exilés – est donc le substrat d’une telle expérience, au sein de laquelle s’élabore une forme inédite de vivre ensemble . Pour étayer la conflictualité vivifiante et la pluralité nécessaires pour faire de l’aventure de l’Amphi Z une institution en devenir, les uns et les autres doivent réinterroger sans cesse le sens de leur coexistence. Une telle interrogation est au cœur de cette démarche d’écriture : qu’est-ce qu’on fait là, qu’est-ce qui nous relie ?
