<p>The Canadian healthcare system is among the most well-recognized healthcare systems in the world; however, it has been facing many challenges in several recent years.</p><br><p>In this paper, we plan to understand how Software Engineering and Software Reuse can help the Canadian Healthcare system become more efficient and effective in treating chronic illnesses and for this thesis primarily Type-2 Diabetes (T2D).</p><br><p>The investigators in this research, attempt to understand the current state of healthcare in Canada and then, with the help of Software Engineering and Software Reusability concepts, propose a simulation software package.</p><br><p>In the end, we used the developed software to simulate a randomized controlled trial (RCT) for testing the cost-effectiveness of two prevention programs of gym incentives and diabetes prevention program versus a control group not enrolled in any prevention program.</p><div><br></div>
