Em 27 de janeiro de 1985, Augusto de Campos publicou o poema “Póstudo”, no suplemento Folhetim, encartado no jornal Folha de S. Paulo. Em resposta ao poema, dois meses depois, nesse mesmo suplemento jornalístico, o crítico Roberto Schwarz escreveu uma incisiva análise, apontando, segundo sua visão, as aspirações desse poema em se tornar monumento histórico na literatura brasileira. Uma semana depois, a resposta de Augusto de Campos foi publicada com o mesmo grau depolêmica e acidez. Ao historiar esse confronto, mais do que apontar a controvérsia entre um crítico e um autor, este artigo indica que por trás dessa polêmica está a defesa de duas concepções teóricas bastante demarcadas e distintas em nossa historiografia literária nos anos 1960 e 1970: a crítica de linhagem “sociológica” e a crítica de linhagem “formalista”, das quais um e outro são legítimos representantes e defensores.
Glauber Rocha (1939-1981), conhecido principalmente pelo seu trabalho de cineasta e como um dos expoentes do Cinema Novo, atuou em diversos cenários da nossa intelectualidade e da cultura nacional. Este artigo examina a prática ensaística deste intelectual manifestada em sua produção escrita que circulou na grande imprensa, principalmente em seus artigos da Folha de S. Paulo, no final da década de 1970. Como método, privilegia-se a análise do seu trajeto intelectual em convivência com a análise de sua prática do ensaio de ideias sob a forma de divulgação seriada.
Este artigo tematiza alguns aspectos da poesia do grande intelectual e artista Mário de Andrade. O escritor paulista foi um dos responsáveis pela renovação modernista entre os anos 1920 e 1930, tendo ele uma atuação em várias frentes: a produção literária, o ensaísmo e a crítica de arte, a produção e atuação na seara jornalística, entre outras coisas. De modo geral, o propósito deste artigo é discutir algumas linhas de força que compõe a heterogênea e complexa poesia de Mário de Andrade partindo do seu livro marco do modernismo brasileiro, o célebre Pauliceia desvairada (1922), considerado pela crítica literária como a primeira obra da poesia moderna brasileira.
Este artigo é uma apresentação e contextualização da poesia popular de folhetos, conhecida também como folhetos de cordel. Os folhetos surgem, como registro escrito e prática editorial, em fins do século XIX. Sua gênese está ligada à prática de uma poesia oral cantada em diversos espaços públicos e privados no Nordeste brasileiro, marca que carrega até os dias atuais. Na parte final do artigo, foram abordados os trabalhos de três relevantes poetas da primeira geração de autores brasileiros: Silvino Pirauá de Lima (1848-1913), Leandro Gomes de Barros (1865-1918) e João Melquíades Ferreira da Silva (1869-1933).
