INTRODUÇÃOO contraceptivo oral, na atualidade, é um dos métodos mais utilizados para prevenir a ocorrência de uma gravidez indesejada. Por volta do século XX, período no qual foi criado, o anticoncepcional era indicado somente em casos de pacientes com distúrbios no ciclo menstrual e, apenas no ano de 1960, passou a ser prescrito com finalidade contraceptiva. Por um lado, o seu uso está relacionado a benefícios, como a diminuição da suscetibilidade a casos de endometriose, câncer e cistos ovarianos. Já por outra perspectiva, o anticoncepcional pode desencadear inúmeros malefícios à saúde feminina, a exemplo do aumento do risco de doenças cardiovasculares e, principalmente, da trombose (FERREIRA et al, 2019).A trombose é uma doença multifatorial, tendo sua origem associada a diversos fatores, como idade, obesidade e uso de anticoncepcionais (SAÚDE, 2019). Conforme Lima et al (2017), o hormônio estrogênio provoca mudanças importantes na fisiologia da coagulação, aumentando a disponibilidade de trombina e fatores de coagulação, além de reduzir os que a inibe naturalmente.Diante dos tópicos abordados, pode-se afirmar que a presente pesquisa visa ao estudo dos malefícios do uso de contraceptivos orais ao organismo feminino, com foco no desenvolvimento de casos de trombose, a fim de compreender a relação entre a patologia do sistema cardiovascular e o uso das pílulas anticoncepcionais. Portanto, resumidamente, a pesquisa tem como objetivo contribuir para o acervo científico sobre a saúde da mulher, servindo de fonte para qualificação de profissionais da saúde e conscientização feminina sobre os efeitos do método contraceptivo em suas vidas. METODOLOGIARealizou-se uma revisão literária com base em material já publicado, baseada em evidências sobre os malefícios associados ao uso de contraceptivos orais, com foco na trombose. As referências da pesquisa foram buscadas nos bancos de dados Google Acadêmico, Scielo e PubMed e utilizou as seguintes palavras-chave: coagulação, anticoncepcional e efeitos dos fármacos. Os artigos foram filtrados de acordo com os seguintes critérios de inclusão: I) artigos que abordavam a temática delimitada; II) disponibilizados gratuitamente e no formato eletrônico; III) recorte temporal entre 2017 e 2022; IV) publicados na língua portuguesa e inglesa.
