Objetivo: Evaluar el conocimiento que presentan los adolescentes acerca de los métodos anticonceptivos durante un periodo pre-test y post-test. Material y método: El estudio fue cuasi-experimental, longitudinal, descriptivo. Se tomó una muestra de 90 alumnos de secundaria y bachillerato que cumplieran con los criterios de inclusión. El muestreo fue probabilístico por racimos, se eligieron a grupos de adolescentes. Firmaron el consentimiento informado. La intervención educativa fue de tres etapas: Etapa pre-test, donde se aplicó un cuestionario; intervención educativa con seis sesiones; y etapa pos-test. El instrumento que se utilizó fue “Nivel de conocimientos sobre el uso de métodos anticonceptivos en adolescentes” de Dávalos N. Ríos A. Ruiz L. (2015), con un Alfa de Cronbach de .73. Resultados: El promedio de edad fue de 14 años (DE=1.190), una mínima de 13 años y máxima de 18 años con escolaridad de secundaria y bachillerato, predominando el sexo masculino (52%). En la aplicación del pre-test el 14.4% de los adolescentes tuvo un nivel de conocimiento adecuado, y el 85.6% tuvo un nivel de conocimiento inadecuado. En el post-test el 96.6% tuvo un nivel de conocimiento adecuado, y el 3.4% tuvo un nivel de conocimiento inadecuado. Conclusión: Al finalizar la intervención educativa se observó un notable incremento del conocimiento acerca de los métodos anticonceptivos en los adolescentes.
