Background: The essence of transcultural nursing is to guide nursing students in order to be able to provide nursing care based on patients’ needs and their cultural backgrounds. To transfer the knowledge and attitude of the transcultural nursing effectively among generation Z students, an android-based module can be used and it is considered effective. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of using an android-based module on the knowledge and attitudes of nursing students regarding the provision of transcultural nursing. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. Ninety-four students were selected using a purposive sampling, which forty-seven were assigned in an android-based module group and a printed-module group. Data were measured using knowledge and attitude questionnaires about transcultural nursing, and perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use questionnaire for android-based modules. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test with a significance level of < .05.Results: There was a significant effect of both android and printed based modules on knowledge of transcultural nursing (p <.05), but not for the attitude (p >.05). Based on the Independent t-test, there was no significant difference in students' knowledge and attitude about transcultural nursing between both groups (p >.05). However, the android-based module was considered useful (97.9%) with a mean value of 44, and was easy to use (91.5%) with a median value of 40.Conclusion: The use of both printed-based module and android-based module is effective to increase the students’ knowledge and attitudes about transcultural nursing.
Background: Rupture perineal is the tear of the perineal at the time of the fetus born. The tear is only traumatic because the perineal could not hold a strain upon when a fetus passes. The parity is factor of mother that can cause rupture perineal. Objective: This study aims to know the relation between parity with incidence of rupture perineal during vaginal birth at the clinic of Asri Medical Center in Yogyakarta and District Hospital Bantul Panembahan Senopati. Method: This study was a quantitative descriptive study with cross sectional approach. Respondents in this study were mothers vaginal birth as of February-March 2014, which was recorded in the medical record. Sampling technique was purposive sampling techniques. Analysis of test used is the Fisher test. Result and Discussion: The research subjects who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were 152 people (primiparous: 89, multiparous: 63). Primiparous have more risks than parity ruptured perineum in multiparous (primi rupture: 89 people, multi rupture: 56). Fisher's exact test results showed a significant result (p = 0.002) between parity with rupture of the perineum in normal labor. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between parity with the rupture of the perineum in normal deliveries at the
Background: Stunting is a condition where a person's height is shorter than the height of other people in general (of the same age). Factors that influence the incidence of stunting are the mother's knowledge about stunting prevention and feeding patterns. Knowledge results from knowing after people have sensed a particular object. The feeding pattern is the mother's way of giving food to children aged 0-24 months. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of the simulation games puzzle on increasing mothers' knowledge about stunting prevention and feeding patterns in children aged 0-24 months. Methods: The research design was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent (pretest and post-test) control group design. Results: There was a significant difference in mother's knowledge about stunting prevention in the simulation game puzzle and booklet group after education (p=0.032), and there was a significant difference in feeding patterns for children aged 0-24 months in the simulation game puzzle and booklet group after education (0.043). Conclusion: Simulation puzzle games and booklets can effectively be used as educational media in increasing mothers' knowledge about stunting prevention and feeding patterns in children aged 0-24 months.
