The advancement of science and technology plays a big role in the development of our society. The backlog in education can be calibrated through social media. As social media and millenials are inseparable, it is but proper to make use of social media as an effective platform to curb the millenials’ Christian Education illiteracy. This article explores the utilitization of social media as a double-edged tool to deliver a holistic Christian Education context right at their comfort. This article recommends Shared Christian Praxis (SCP) approach as a method to tailor Christian Education context for millennials in social media context.
Religious moderation is one of the efforts launched by the government in order to manage religious diversity in Indonesia. The interesting thing in its development is that religious moderation is recognized as a 'living document'. This living document opens a space for this religious moderation to be adapted and translated in the diverse Indonesian context with various points of view that can enrich the meaning of religious moderation itself. On the other hand, John Wesley's understanding of "heart religion" is interesting to consider. Even though at his time, John Wesley did not deal directly with the context of religious moderation, his thoughts can be a valuable contribution in the context of religious moderation in Indonesia. This paper highlights relevant aspects of John Wesley's thought for the contemporary Indonesian context, especially with regard to religious diversity and religious moderation proclaimed by the government.
Community Service is part of the Tridarma of Higher Education. Community Service is oriented to the practice of science and technology directly in the community. The goal is to implement the Tridarma of Higher Education as well as to contribute ideas and transfer technology to the East Lumban Pea Village apparatus. As the application of technology has touched almost all fields of work, including the government sector. This PKM activity was carried out for four days with computer training materials using Google Meet, Zoom, Attandace Tracker and Google Form. This topic is needed to equip village officials to hold meetings and other online activities.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a global problem for humans today. There are some hypotheses and analyses regarding the cause of the pandemic, including the ecological problem (environmental damage) which is considered as one of the biggest contributing factors. The natural imbalance and environmental damage are an undeniable reality in today’s life. The theological understanding of humans as imago Dei who has the right to conquer and control nature exacerbates the ecological problems and increases humans’ disharmony with nature. This paper invites the readers to understand the context of this pandemic as an effort to reflect on discriminatory theological views of nature which lead to irresponsible human attitudes and behaviors. In this regard, this paper offers a theological understanding which recognizes relational justice and harmony with nature. This paper also provides an explanation of the relation between COVID-19 and ecological issues, as well as theological views that trigger humans’ destructive attitudes and behaviors towards nature. Moreover, this paper offers solutions to transform the crisis through theological paradigms which become theological ethics, in order to establish the relation between justice and harmony with nature.
Financial Technology, also known as FinTech, is digital finance which is currently on the rise. People have started to get used to using it, although some still feel foreign. While the benefits felt by the presence of FinTech are quite positive because they can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of time. We can find one of its uses in the marketplace. This community service activity is carried out in the St. Catholic University environment. Thomas Medan as a partner for students and lecturers. This service activity focuses on training and increasing financial technology literacy. While the output of this activity is increasing the readiness of partners in using fintech so that partners as a community can support financial inclusion to access and use the full services of existing financial institutions in a timely, more informative manner at a relatively low cost.
