In the present investigation we have proposed a solid core photonic crystal fiber (PCF) withoctagonal ring structured cladding. In order to compare, two cases has been obtained with different air filling ratio and filled with high refractive index material. Different optical parameters of the photonic crystal fiber like effective area, Nonlinear Coefficient, Confinement Loss and Dispersion has been studied. The two cases have been designed to meet the requirements like large mode area(LMA), highly nonlinear fiber, low confinement loss etc. To analyse such PCF properties are reported by using the full vector finite element method (FEM) with the help of software like COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS and MATLAB. It was possible to obtain large mode area (LMA) by filling the inner most ring with high refractive index material without changing the structure. Keywords: Photonic crystal fiber (PCF), air filling ratio, effective mode area, confinement loss, nonlinear coefficient and chromatic dispersion.I.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
