This study embarked on the importance of and tendency on Halal products and services in Malaysia and the global market. In the global market, consumer base for Halal products is around 1.7 billion people and worth more than 2.3 trillion dollars. It makes the Halal market a vitally important emerging sector that should not be overlooked. From the market perspective, traditional target market remains in Asia and the Middle East; however, due to the effect of globalization, there is a significant development of market size for Halal market in Europe and the USA. Besides, in the Western country, most Halal product is still not readily available for the UK market. We see this phenomenon being applied not only on food items. Personal hygiene and healthcare products, toiletries, and cosmetics are all appearing as Halal options. Once Halal is understood as a lifestyle choice, the range of options for Halal product will increase exponentially. In Malaysia, Halal products are not a big issue as we can find Halal food everywhere from the street market up to the high-end chain. The competition can be considered intense in the market.
The main priority of Malaysian healthcare design quality is to organize an informational domain of a patient-oriented care design by patient experience to usable environment. The usability evaluation is an appropriate qualitative research design dealing with a process concerning the understanding of the user and context of use. This paper provides strategies for evaluating quality architecture in use from user experience and approaches for analyses of applicable qualitative data. Case studies have been conducted to explore the usability of three replacement hospitals in Peninsular Malaysia using "USEtool" evaluation method introduced by Hansen, Blakstad, and Knudsen (2011). It is a five-stage evaluation process focusing on the following questions: for what, what, where and whom, why, and lastly, the final report as an action plan and input for the improvement of a building quality environment design in use. The process of data analysis is based on thematic analysis principles using NVivo 9. The findings indicate that (1) the quality of care is the positive users' experience feedback on the usability of physical environment design that fulfils their needs and expectations, (2) there is a strong relationship between the usability physical environment criteria and overall patient satisfaction, and (3) the usability evaluation is useful for benchmarking and creating comparative databases, which optimally accommodates the needs of users and acts as a learning feature for improving the existing or future design.
This article discusses the effects of carbon dioxide emission on the economic environment. The major contribution of this study is by improvising the IPAT's fuzzy dilemma into a better model using the Distance-based Ranking Fuzzy Numbers Approach introduced by Ahmad Syafadhli Abu Bakar, Daud Mohamad, Nor Hashimah Sulaiman (2012). This study is a pioneer study using the Ranking Fuzzy Numbers Approach in modeling air pollution measurement in Malaysia. The time series data collected are from 1970 to 2011 where these data will be used to explain the relationship between carbon emission with the population, gross domestic product (GDP) and the manufacturing industry. All calculation and explanation with regards to economic perceptions are also provided. The forecasted value of carbon dioxide emission can be used to assist the government in future planning and development.
Global demand for handicraft products is rising, and it has contributed significantly towards the Bangladesh economy. In recent years, more handicraft centers have been built to better facilitate local handicraft operators reaching their customers (particularly tourists). Even small-scale and traditional handicraft operators are migrating to modern mass-production processes to cater the rising market demand. Given the scepticism as well as negative impression towards the authenticity of mass production handicrafts, this paper quantitatively examined tourists' perceived authenticity on local handicraft attributes and how it influences their purchase behaviour. From the analysis, respondents generally agreed that local handicrafts' attributes are unique and original, made from fine quality materials, promoting local culture and historical integrity, and reasonably priced. Except for uniqueness and originality, all these attributes were significantly linked to tourists' purchase behavior. Overall, outcome from this study would benefit both academicians and practitioners, particularly in the handicraft industry.
