Abstract:This study aims to test whether differentiation strategy will deliver a better financial performance than cost leadership strategy. Using a sample of 85 observations of 17 Food & Beverages manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2009 to 2013, research hypotheses are tested using regresion analysis. The result shows that companies that choose differentiation strategy will produce better financial performance than companies that implement the cost leadership strategy. PENDAHULUANKinerja bisnis merupakan standar penting yang dipakai oleh sebuah entitas ekonomi untuk menilai keberhasilan usaha. Kinerja merupakan rangkuman tujuan dari kesatuan organisasi (March dan Sutton, 1997). Oleh karena itu setiap usaha bisnis berkepentingan untuk membuktikan kinerja yang dicapai dengan standar pencapaian yang telah disusun dan disepakati bersama dalam organisasi. Standarisasi ukuran kinerja menjadi penting sebagai pedoman menilai kinerja bisnis. Standarisasi ukuran diperlukan sebagai para meter dan bahan evaluasi dalam penyusunan rencana masa depan. Selain itu standarisasi yang jelas juga mempermudah dalam penilaian kinerja sebagai dasar pemberian reward dan punishment bagi para pihak yang bersinggungan dengan upaya penciptaan kinerja (Ulum, 2006).

This research aims to test and prove the relation of the selection of strategy formulation towards accountant role in hotel business management, and also to test and prove star-hotel rating in moderating the relation between the selection of strategy formulation and accountant role in hotel business management in Southern Sumatera region. This research uses the data which is collected from surveys conducted on star-hotel General Managers (Hotel Leaders) in Southern Sumatera region. 134 questionnaires are given to General Managers (Hotel Leaders). A total of 118 questionnaires (88.06%) are used in this research. This data is analysed by Moderating Regression Analysis using SPSS software version 21. Findings show that deliberate strategy formulation gives positive impact towards the increase of accountant role in the hotel industry, whereas star rating gives negative interaction effect to deliberate strategy formulation. A new insight of this research is the effort to see interaction effect of star-hotel rating and strategy formulation practice towards accountant role in the hotel industry.

Abstract:This study aims to test whether the star rating as parameter of level hotel to bring a better impact on the implementation of strategic management accounting role in the management of the hotel business. Using a sample of 66 respondents General Manager/Leader of Hotel in the province of South Sumatra (resepon rate 88%), research hypotheses were tested using regression analysis. The results showed that the star rating hotel a positive impact on the implementation of strategic management accounting role in functional role of accounting and the use of strategic management accounting techniques. Digitalisasi bisnis penjualan ini merupakan sebuah transformasi bisnis yang signifikan dari yang awalnya bersifat konvensional menjadi virtual. Tujuan besar dari digitalisasi bisnis penjualan ini adalah untuk memberikan kinerja penjualan yang lebih cepat, semakin mendekatkan jarak antara penjual dan pembeli secara virtual dan dapat diakses secara global karena basis utama dalam implementasi digitalisasi bisnis penjualan adalah dengan memanfaatkan teknologi internet. Revolusi industri 4.0 telah membawa dampak pada munculnya praktik digitalisasi ekonomi dan mendorong  berkembangnya praktik bisnis penjualan secara online. Namun demikian, belum semua orang tahu dan paham bagaimana menekuni bisnis penjualan secara online. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya kegiatan yang mampu memfasilitasi masyarakat guna mendapatkan literasi mengenai usaha bisnis penjualan secara online. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan peningkatan wawasan dan keterampilan Orang Muda Katolik (OMK) St. Maria Tugumulyo mengenai potensi penjualan secara online. Dengan memiliki literasi yang baik tentang bisnis penjualan online, anggota OMK St. Maria Tugumulyo bisa meningkatkan jiwa kewirausahaan mereka dengan memanfaatkan bisnis penjualan secara online.  Metode kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan dan simulasi dalam membuat online shop melalui platform Tokopedia, cara mempromosikan produk, dan cara mengidentifikasi pemasok. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan dampak positif atas pikiran dan pandangan para peserta dalam hal pilihan bisnis pada masa kini. Peserta mulai memiliki pikiran terbuka untuk memanfaatkan teknolgi internet dalam membuat bisnis yang dapat memberikan tambahan penghasilan

This study aims to prove the effect of lifestyle, strategy choice orientation on business decision making. This study uses primary data through a survey of culinary entrepreneurs in Palembang. The questionnaire data used in this study were 92 (61.3%). Analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Partial Least Squares (PLS) using Warp PLS software version 5.0 to examine the research. The results of the study show that the lifestyle and strategy choice orientation affects business decision-making.

This study aims to prove differences in the level of the role of accountant and the implementation of strategic management accounting based on ethnicity categories of hotel owners. The study is conducted with quantitative methods using primary data through a survey of hotel general managers/leaders in the Sumatra region. A total of 395 questionnaires are distributed to the hotel general managers/leaders. The number of questionnaires used in this study is 224. Mann-Whitney nonparametric tests for two independent samples analysis is used to test research hypotheses. The results of the study indicate that there are differences in the role of accountant and the implementation of strategic management accounting based on differences in ethnicity of the hotel owners.

The use of strategic management accounting is important in modern business management. For this reason, this study aims to examine whether historical business performance, owner-management characteristics, and innovation culture are the key factors influencing MSME owner-management in Palembang City in the use of strategic management accounting techniques in their companies. Using a sample of 114 (76 per cent) respondents from MSME entrepreneurs in the city of Palembang, the research hypothesis was tested using structural equation modeling (SEM) and partial least squares (PLS) analysis with Warp PLS software version 5.0. The results of the study found that historical business performance, owner-management characteristics, and innovation culture had a positive effect on the level of use of strategic management accounting techniques in MSME management in Palembang City.

The COVID-19 pandemic crisis has disrupted the movement of MSME actors in running their businesses. The use of online media – especially social media – is considered by many to be the main impact of a business strategy orientation that focuses on competitive and innovative strategies to improve business performance. For this reason, this study aims to prove whether there is an influence between strategic orientation on the use of online media and social media and to prove the use of online media and social media on MSME business performance in the city of Palembang. To test the hypothesis, a sample of 160 (80percent) MSME entrepreneurs in Palembang were polled, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis of Partial Least Squares (PLS) was performed using Warp PLS software version 5.0. The results showed that the strategic orientation of MSME entrepreneurs in the city of Palembang had a positive effect on the use of online media and social media in their business activities. The research findings also show that the use of online media, particularly social media, has a positive effect on the achievement of their business performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
