We study various aspects of the 4d/3d reduction of N = 1 dualities involving U Sp(2N c ) gauge theories with 2N f fundamentals and one antisymmetric. We discuss the non-trivial role played by the monopole superpotentials in the reduction and obtain new 3d dualities for models with both symplectic and unitary gauge groups. For N f = 4 we observe interesting webs of dualities and symmetry enhancements, recovering and extending some results already appeared in the literature.
We study Seiberg-like dualities in three dimensional N = 2 supersymmetric theories, emphasizing Chern-Simons terms for the global symmetry group, which affect contact terms in two-point functions of global currents and are essential to the duality map. We introduce new Seiberg-like dualities for Yang-Mills-Chern-Simons theories with unitary gauge groups with arbitrary numbers of matter fields in the fundamental and antifunda-mental representations. These dualities are derived from Aharony duality by real mass deformations. They allow to initiate the systematic study of Seiberg-like dualities in Chern-Simons quivers. We also comment on known Seiberg-like dualities for symplectic and orthogonal gauge groups and extend the latter to the Yang-Mills case. We check our proposals by showing that the localized partition functions on the squashed S 3 match between dual descriptions.
We investigate models of SU(N ) SQCD with adjoint matter and non trivial mesonic deformations. We apply standard methods in the dual magnetic theory and we find meta-stable supersymmetry breaking vacua with arbitrary large lifetime. We comment on the difference with known models.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
