Рассматривается возможность использования низкопотенциальных тепловых вторичных энергоресурсов в виде отходящих газов от промышленных предприятий незначительной энергетической мощности, в частности, пищевых. Анализируются теплоутилизаторы с неподвижным плотным слоем гранулированных материалов, обеспечивающие непосредственный теплообмен газа (воздуха) с частицами. Указывается на недостаточное количество эффективных разработок теплоутилизаторов низкопотенциальной теплоты и сведений по рациональным тепловым режимам их работы. Отмечается эффективность применения гранулированных материалов в теплоэнергетике с позиции интенсификации процессов переноса теплоты и массы. Описана методика теплового расчета контактного теплоутилизатора для определения его геометрических характеристик и основных параметров процесса. Предлагаемая методика учитывает изменение коэффициента межкомпонентного теплообмена во времени. Приведены результаты расчетов основных характеристик теплоутилизатора промышленного назначения с неподвижной насадкой. В теплоутилизаторе с неподвижной насадкой не возникает необходимости в организации движения слоя гранулированного материала, что существенно упрощает эксплуатацию и конструкцию теплообменника. Представлены результаты расчета теплоутилизатора с неподвижным слоем, предназначенного для обогрева помещения, расположенного непосредственно рядом с вентиляционными каналами предприятия. В предлагаемом теплоутилизаторе в периоде нагрева передача теплоты осуществляется при непосредственном контакте газового потока с частицами материала, а в периоде охлаждения теплота передается от наружной поверхности теплоутилизатора в окружающую среду. Для получения сглаженной характеристики нагрева помещения целесообразно дублировать наполненные гранулированным материалом рабочие каналы теплоутилизатора и включать их поочередно. Рассчитанный теплоутилизатор отличается сравнительно высоким значением коэффициента полезного действия и возможностью работы без прямого контакта частиц насадки с воздухом обогреваемого помещения. Рассчитанные на низкопотенциальную теплоту конструкции теплоутилизаторов предлагаются для использования на предприятиях пищевых производств.
