The effectiveness and cost are always top factors for policy-makers to decide control measures and most measures had no pre-test before implementation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, human activities are largely restricted in many regions in India since mid-March of 2020, and it is a progressing experiment to testify effectiveness of restricted emissions. In this study, concentrations of six criteria pollutants, PM 10 , PM 2.5 , CO, NO 2 , ozone and SO 2 during March 16th to April 14th from 2017 to 2020 in 22 cities covering different regions of India were analysed. Overall, around 43, 31, 10, and 18% decreases in PM 2.5 , PM 10 , CO, and NO 2 in India were observed during lockdown period compared to previous years. While, there were 17% increase in O 3 and negligible changes in SO 2 . The air quality index (AQI) reduced by 44, 33, 29, 15 and 32% in north, south, east, central and western India, respectively. Correlation between cities especially in northern and eastern regions improved in 2020 compared to previous years, indicating more significant regional transport than previous years. The mean excessive risks of PM reduced by~52% nationwide due to restricted activities in lockdown period. To eliminate the effects of possible favourable meteorology, the WRF-AERMOD model system was also applied in Delhi-NCR with actual meteorology during the lockdown period and an un-favourable event in early November of 2019 and results show that predicted PM 2.5 could increase by only 33% in unfavourable meteorology. This study gives confidence to the regulatory bodies that even during unfavourable meteorology, a significant improvement in air quality could be expected if strict execution of air quality control plans is implemented.

Introduction: Adolescent phase in girls is a transition from girlhood to womanhood and marks the onset of female puberty. Puberty is the age at which the internal reproductive organs reach maturity, usually between the age of 11 to 15 years and Menarche is a biological, psychological, social, as well as behavioral transition for an adolescent girl from girlhood to womanhood. Menstruation is the most important physiological and biological sign of female puberty. It is the results of changes in hormones in the body and it’s a natural phenomenon; most of the adolescent girls have some wrong beliefs and behavior regarding menstruation. The main of this study is to provide adequate knowledge about menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls. It will help to develop and improve the hygienic pattern of menstruation and reduce the risk of reproductive tract infections. Methodology: To achieve the objectives of the study quantitative research approach was used in the study; pre experimental one group pre-test post-test design was selected. The data were collected from 45 Adolescent girls from 6th to 9th standard students of Guru Ram Das International School Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar Uttarakhand. And the non probability purposive sampling technique was used. The tools used for the study was (1) structured questionnaire to assess the socio-demographic data and (2) Structured questionnaire to assess knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene. Result: The finding of study revealed that the mean post-test knowledge score (18.80) was significant greater than the pre-test knowledge score (13.57) of experimental group of student, [t (44) = 9.47, P<0.05]. The result showed that there was significant association between knowledge of student regarding menstrual hygiene with per month family income and previous knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene as the Chi square value for per month family income and (25.76, P<0.05) and previous knowledge about menstrual hygiene (6.78, P<0.05). The knowledge of student regarding menstrual hygiene was improved.

The usage of smart phones equipped with GPS navigation unit have increased rapidly from 3% to more than 20% in the past five years. Hence, a smart phone can be used efficiently for personal safety or various other protection purposes especially for women. This app can be activated by a single click when the user feels she is in danger. This application communiqués the user’s location to the registered contacts for every few seconds in the form of message. Thus, it acts like a sentinel following behind the person till the user feels she is safe. This paper presents analysis a unique feature of this application to send the message to the registered contacts continuously till they are pressing ‘HELP’ button. Continuous location tracking information via SMS helps to find the location of the victim quickly and can be rescued safely. This application aims to ensure women safety. This is achieved by addressing the circumstances that compromise the safety of women in today’s day and age. This app ensures women are not put into such situations through various features offered by our system.
