This paper tackles Carl Sagan's 1985's science fiction novel Contact which examines the connection and the relation between religious faith and science, focusing on technology and its significance in human existence. Contact's most lasting impression on readers is its enthralling representation of the unending conflict between science and faith. At numerous points in the novel, the reader is given the impression that religion and science might have a good relationship. The two are usually considered structurally related and, in some circumstances, even dependent on one another. This paper is to discover the tension between the science and faith the author Carl Sagan presents in his Contact with relating to the postmodern theory in literary criticism.

They are many such as deconstruction and intertextuality. This play will be analyzed according to Kevin Paul Smith's method of intertextuality. This method traces the elements of fairytales in postmodernist literature and their unique alterations by using deconstruction theory that shows the false hierarchies and the false values upon which these classic tales are built.
Lack of planning can be a cause of big problems. These problems could end to be tragedies. This paper hypothesizes that lack of planning, as one of the traits of youthfulness, is the cause of tragedy and this is the case of Shakespeare's "Hamlet". The aim of this paper is to prove the hypothesis that the cause of Hamlet's tragedy is the lack of planning because of his youthfulness. To achieve the aim, the paper follows character-analysis approach in the discussion. The results come at the end of the paper, in the conclusion, which validate the before mentioned hypothesis.
