This study indicates that age and gender must be taken into account when determining the target population for adult hearing screening and that the time interval between repeated screenings should be based either on age or on the hearing thresholds at the first screening.
This study suggests that Internet screening at age 50 years, repeated at ages 55, 60, 65, and 70 years, is the optimal strategy to screen for hearing loss and might be considered for nationwide implementation.
