All learning activities in Indonesia during COVID-19 pandemic are conducted through online remote learning. However, it does not change the nature of the learning activities because homework, group project, and exams still need to be done by the students. The group discussion is more difficult since all communications between members need to be done online. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of conflict in college students’ group discussions. A total of 100 college students was recruited in this study. Based on the analyses from the collected questionnaire, it can be seen that the incompetent group leader (p = 0.003), misunderstanding in online communication (p = 0.047), lack of group discussion (p = 0.001), and selfishness of the members (p = 0.001) significantly affect conflict the group discussion. To avoid the conflict, it is suggested that all members need to always attend the online discussion and actively participate in the discussion to minimize misunderstanding.
The formative assessment offers more informative aspects for the improvement in teaching and learning activity, unlike the summative assessment that teachers commonly apply. Therefore, the essence of learning is accomplished. Furthermore, the teachers can adjust the teaching to suit the students' needs through formative assessment. However, such research about formative assessment in English Foreign Language context is limited. This study intended to see the practice of formative assessment in the English Foreign Language writing class of the secondary school students and its impact on the teaching and learning activity. Thirty students and an English teacher participated in this research. In undergoing this case study, the researcher gathered the data from the questionnaire and interview, then analyze the data using inductive procedure analysis. The study revealed that students obtained more opportunity to share ideas with their peers. Therefore, it makes students more active in learning. Formative assessment also helps the students to improve writing in several aspects such as the grammatical aspect and the language use. Besides, students built up a positive attitude to writing and formative assessment as they can reflect from the discussion and feedback. This research will benefit teachers regarding conduct formative assessment in EFL writing and for other researchers to carry out the same research topic.
Penelitian inibertujuan untuk menganalisis literasi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika yang menghasilkan deskripsi mengenai kemampuan literasi siswa dalam merumuskan, menerapkan, dan menafsirkan. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ditentukan melalui purposive sampling dan didasarkan dari tingkat kemampuan siswa yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tiga soal PISA 2012 pada konten Quantity yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dan wawancara. Teknik keabsahan data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah metode triangulasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Diperoleh persentase siswa yang memenuhi proses literasi merumuskan (formulate) adalah 66, 67%, proses literasi menerapkan (employ) 33,33%, dan proses literasi menafsirkan (interpret) 66, 67%.
Mission of pharmacy education is to develop and nurture skills in lifelong learning. Broad insight, skills in communication, and teamwork is a must for the pharmaceutical profession. The learning method greatly affects the results of understanding each individual, especially in understanding pharmaceutical material which is considered difficult. Educational games are used as a teaching method because they help complement and strengthen the material being taught. Board games have continued to grow in popularity and the pedagogical value of the games has been supported many times. So, this board game is designed to have enough challenging elements to nurture student interest. The game tactic used collaboration and competition in the classroom. Competition has been found to increase motivation. Thus, that motivation can be used to understand the pharmaceutical material contained in the game. Aim this study is to determine the potential modification of the monopoly board game in increasing student comprehension of pharmaceutical material. The pharmapolein game was examined on both pharmacy and non-pharmacy student respondents (n = 12). From the test, it was obtained a correlation value of and 0.885 and a significance value of 0.000, so the conclusion was that the board game game could increase student knowledge in mastery of pharmaceutical science.
