Disease prevention involves a diverse range of care and in the case of COVID-19, the strengthening of the immune system helps to fight infections, there are also several factors that are associated with significant risks for COVID-19 infection and we can highlight poor nutrition and inadequate nutritional status of the individual and pre-existing non-communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus, chronic lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases and obesity. The study aims to highlight through a literary review the importance of healthy eating and adequate nutritional status for prevention and maintenance of health in the face of the PANDEMIC of COVID-19. This is an exploratory study, through a bibliographical research. According to the literature studied adequate nutrition with the correct proportion of macro nutrients and micronutrients adequate contributes to the strengthening of the immune system and the prevention of chronics non-communicable diseases.
