Zusammenfassung In diesem Beitrag werden die Ergebnisse einer Pilotstudie zur Akzeptanz von Assisted-Living- Technik für Altere vorgestellt. Für 18 Wohntechniken und sechs Internetanwendungen werden die Nutzungsbereitschaft beschrieben und Einflüsse von sozialstrukturellen Merkmalen, Technikkompetenz und Technikeinstellungen zur Erklärung der Akzeptanz neuer Wohntechniken untersucht. Datenbasis ist eine standardisierte Befragung von Mietern aus Mainz die älter als 60 Jahre sind (n=383). Die wichtigsten Befunde sind: Erstens variiert die Akzeptanz in unterschiedlichen Bevölkerungsgruppen nach einzelnen Techniken und Anwendungen. Zweitens ist die Nutzungsbereitschaft für neue Wohntechnik innerhalb der Gruppe der Über-60-Jährigen bei älteren Kohorten nicht geringer als bei jüngeren Kohorten. Drittens ist die tatsächliche Technikkompetenz besonders im Umgang mit Computer und Internet, für die Akzeptanz mindestens so bedeutsam wie die soziale Lage.
