La pospandemia y los efectos de la pandemia aún presentes han motivado múltiples discusiones, dejando en claro que no se quiere volver a una normalidad cuyos problemas estructurales no han sido solucionados por la economía de mercado a lo largo de varias décadas, sino que, por el contrario, se han agudizado y visibilizado con la propagación de la covid-19. Con el propósito de superar las numerosas consecuencias en sus diversas dimensiones, se impulsan cambios en el modelo económico vigente, de tal modo que permita rebasar sus fallos y reorientar el papel del Estado hacia uno más activo en lo económico, social y ambiental, en donde se otorgue un papel preponderante a las necesidades colectivas, al desarrollo sostenible y a todo lo relacionado con los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible (ODS). El nuevo escenario de pospandemia plantea la necesidad de promover los lazos de solidaridad, cooperación y democracia a través de los diferentes enfoques de la economía social y solidaria (ESS) y de sus organizaciones y empresas. Al poseer una gobernanza inclusiva, democrática, participativa, solidaria y sostenible, estas pueden contribuir multidimensionalmente a cerrar las brechas de la desigualdad y la exclusión económica, social, cultural, ambiental y política. Esto es posible en la medida en que se diseñen e implementen políticas públicas, junto a medidas de recuperación económica que incluyan los diversos enfoques de la ESS. En este tomo, investigadores de la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia y de otras universidades analizan los desafíos del contexto de pospandemia y realizan algunas propuestas.
