O presente estudo busca relatar a experiência vivenciada por estudantes de Medicina sobre a importância da integração ensino-serviço-comunidade na promoção de saúde do idoso em uma Unidade de Saúde da Família do município de Jequié. Trata-se de um relato de experiência, cujas atividades educativas foram resultantes do módulo Práticas de Integração, Ensino, Serviço e Comunidade (PIESC), no período de outubro de 2018 a setembro de 2019. Foram selecionados idosos residentes no município e cadastrados na Estratégia de Saúde da Família adscrita à região. Utilizou-se o Arco de Charles Maguerez para conhecimento do território, estabelecendo o diagnóstico situacional da comunidade e da Unidade. As informações obtidas com as técnicas aplicadas subsidiaram o preenchimento das planilhas operacionais do Planejamento e Programação Local em Saúde, contribuindo não só para a hierarquização dos problemas e da população mais acometida, mas também para a eleição das intervenções aplicadas aos idosos. A Política Nacional de Humanização foi fundamental para a interface entre o cuidado e a formação em saúde, atrelados à realização de visitas domiciliares e salas de espera. A maximização das práticas de educação e promoção à saúde dos idosos, a partir da integralidade da atenção, ressignificou os cuidados em saúde, impactando positivamente na formação dos futuros profissionais, voltados às necessidades do SUS, fortalecendo o tripé discentes-equipe-comunidade.
O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a correlação da esquistossomose mansônica com o acesso ao saneamento básico na Bahia entre 2015 a 2019. Foi realizado um estudo ecológico com o número de casos positivos de esquistossomose do banco de dados da Vigilância Epidemiológica da Secretaria de Saúde e os dados de saneamento básico (abastecimento de água, coleta de lixo e rede de esgoto) do Painel do Saneamento Básico, referentes ao estado da Bahia no período definido. Posteriormente, as variáveis foram correlacionadas utilizando-se o coeficiente de Spearman e p < 0,05 como nível de significância. Os resultados evidenciaram cobertura de saneamento básico no estado da Bahia inferiores aos níveis nacionais em 2019, com 19%, 47% e 16% da população sem acesso à água, coleta de esgoto e coleta de lixo, respectivamente. Enquanto isso, o período de 2015 a 2019, somou 9.703 casos positivos de esquistossomose na Bahia, com diminuição geral do número de casos no ano de 2019. A relação entre a prevalência da esquistossomose na Bahia e os fatores do saneamento básico selecionados não mostrou correlação significativa, em contraste com a relação evidenciada na literatura. Apesar disso, foi demonstrado alto número de casos de esquistossomose, baixa cobertura do saneamento básico e divergência entre os sistemas de informação em saúde no estado da Bahia, pontos passíveis de melhorias para a condição de saúde e acesso à informação da população.
Com a desconstrução do modelo de atenção fragmentado, a Educação Interprofissional torna-se uma estratégia para melhorar a formação de estudantes da área da saúde e qualificação de profissionais. Assim, este artigo objetiva apresentar um relato de experiência de alunos da Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia, no Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho em Saúde/Interprofissionalidade (PET-Saúde/Interprofissionalidade). Tratou-se de uma análise descritiva das ações extensionistas e da experiência vivenciada por estudantes, professores universitários, profissionais e usuários do Sistema Único de Saúde, no contexto da Estratégia de Saúde da Família, no município de Jequié-Bahia-Brasil, de abril a dezembro de 2019. Dentre os problemas de saúde registrados, Diabetes Mellitus e Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica foram as doenças mais prevalentes. A partir desta constatação, sob a orientação dos professores e preceptores, os estudantes desenvolveram abordagens educacionais e ações terapêuticas direcionadas aos usuários. As atividades envolviam competências, habilidades e atitudes necessárias para o futuro exercício profissional. As estratégias utilizadas favoreceram a reflexão acerca da formação acadêmica, das relações interpessoais e interprofissionais, do envolvimento da comunidade e da participação social como mecanismos benéficos para a formação dos profissionais de saúde e seu impacto na qualidade dos serviços.
