As comunidades rurais do litoral do Paraná que realizam o extrativismo de recursos da natureza, possuem o conhecimento sobre as plantas medicinais nativas da região e vinculam a essas, parte de sua identidade e subsistência. No entanto, manter essas atividades e preservar a natureza mediante ao uso e comercialização, requer uma análise e diferenciação das ações que de fato trazem benefícios ou consequências nocivas a essa territorialidade. Este estudo buscou identificar a partir da teoria de Pecqueur sobre os recursos genéricos e específicos, e por meio de uma revisão sistemática de 28 estudos empíricos, obtidos na plataforma CAPES e Scielo, se as plantas medicinais nativas poderiam ser um recurso específico potencial. Os resultados indicaram a influência de ações específicas e genéricas, sendo as específicas potenciais, definidas por um reconhecimento de identidade, a existência de saberes ecológicos e o uso recorrente de determinadas plantas. Já as ações genéricas, ocorrem quando os produtos são direcionados para a comercialização quantitativa e submetidos ao mercado, em condições de negociação injustas. Tais resultados, evidenciam a necessidade de redirecionar as ações da comercialização e articulação, para retomar os caminhos da especificação.
