Introdução: Os universitários, em especial dos cursos da saúde, são um dos grupos mais acometidos pela cefaleia do tipo tensional (CTT), tendo em vista a carga exaustiva de atividades a qual estes indivíduos estão expostos, o que pode desencadear intenso estresse emocional, redução da produtividade e da qualidade de vida. Objetivo: Investigar a frequência de CTT em um grupo de estudantes universitários do Sertão do estado de Pernambuco – Brasil, bem como analisar o impacto da referida desordem neurológica sobre o rendimento acadêmico e as atividades cotidianas daqueles com critérios positivos para CTT. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo do tipo descritivo, de corte transversal e exploratório, cuja coleta de dados ocorreu mediante a aplicação de questionários para investigação sociodemográfica e acadêmica, para rastreio da CTT, para categorização da intensidade da dor e avaliação dos prejuízos na vida acadêmica e na vida cotidiana. Resultados: A amostra final constituiu-se por 121 participantes, de ambos os sexos, com predomínio de indivíduos do sexo feminino, faixa etária superior a 18 e inferior a 25 anos. Dentre os universitários com rastreio positivo para CTT, observou-se critérios compatíveis com: CTT episódica pouco frequente em 23,6%, com mediana da dor referida de 5; CTT episódica frequente em 16,7%, com mediana da dor de 6; CTT crônica em 4,2%, com mediana da dor de 6; CTT provável em 55,5%, com mediana da dor de 5. Houve relação direta e significativa entre a presença de CTT, a frequência e a duração de episódios, bem como presença de fonofobia ou fotofobia. A análise da relação entre o nível de interferência da CTT nas atividades cotidianas e na vida acadêmica dos universitários, e a intensidade da dor percebida mostrou correlação linear direta e significativa entre todas as variáveis. Conclusão: A CTT, portanto, compromete as atividades acadêmicas e profissionais, bem como a qualidade de vida dos estudantes da área da saúde que possuem esse distúrbio. Ressalta-se, ainda, a necessidade de instrumentos de rastreio validados e eficazes para obter-se dados com maior especificidade a fim de formular melhores estratégias de manejo dessa desordem e evitar a evolução para outros distúrbios neurológicos.
As enteroparasitoses são consideradas um grave problema de saúde pública e estão intimamente relacionadas às condições de pobreza, sendo as crianças o grupo etário mais acometido, devido aos hábitos higiênicos insuficientes e falta de conhecimento em relação à prevenção. Neste contexto a educação em saúde surge como uma ferramenta aliada para o controle das parasitoses. Desta forma, objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar e ampliar o conhecimento sobre prevenção de parasitoses intestinais em infantes em idade escolar por meio de ações de educação em saúde. Trata-se de um relato de experiência das atividades extensionistas do Projeto “Avaliação do Conhecimento e Profilaxia das Parasitoses Intestinais em Escolares” desenvolvido em escolas públicas do Município de Serra Talhada-PE. Antes e após as ações educativas foi aplicado um teste visando avaliar o conhecimento acerca das parasitoses intestinais. A partir da realização das medidas educativas e análise dos dados do pré-teste e pós-teste foi verificado que o objetivo de educar as crianças acerca das parasitoses intestinais foi alcançado, destacando a educação em saúde com um instrumento de grande relevância para controle e combate às enteropasitoses em escolares.
Introdução: O surto da COVID-19 rapidamente tomou proporções pandêmicas. Para conter o alastramento dessa infecção, medidas restritivas foram tomadas, com impacto negativo considerável na qualidade de vida e saúde mental da população. Durante esse período, verificou-se aumento na prevalência de transtornos psíquicos, principalmente na população feminina. Tendo em vista que a ciclicidade menstrual possui estreita relação com fenômenos psíquicos, este estudo teve como objetivo levantar informações relevantes na literatura acerca do impacto da COVID-19 no ciclo menstrual. Métodos: Trata-se de revisão integrativa com coleta de informações na Medical Literatura and Retrieval System Online, no período de novembro de 2021 a abril de 2022. Para a sistematização das estratégias, foram desenvolvidas seis etapas a partir da pergunta norteadora “Qual o impacto da COVID-19 no ciclo menstrual das mulheres?”. Utilizou-se os descritores selecionados e controlados a partir dos Descritores em Ciências da Saúde, no idioma inglês, combinados entre si através do operador booleano AND: “COVID-19” e “Menstrual disorders”. Foram incluídos artigos completos, com delimitação temporal de 2020-2022, tipo de estudo adequado, presença de descritores no título e/ou resumo, e capazes de responder à pergunta inicial. Resultados: Verificou-se que, durante a pandemia, houve um aumento na gravidade da dismenorreia e dos sintomas da Síndrome Pré Menstrual, bem como evidência de menarca precoce. Com o aumento do estresse, ansiedade e sintomas depressivos, as mulheres ficam mais propensas aos distúrbios psicológicos e menstruais. Entre as mulheres que testaram positivo para COVID-19, a irregularidade menstrual foi a principal queixa, seguida por agravamento dos sintomas pré-menstruais e ciclos pouco frequentes. Ressalta-se a vulnerabilidade das mulheres em fases escolar, universitária e profissional, destacando a necessidade de políticas públicas direcionadas. Não obstante, a interação entre a infecção pelo coronavírus e o sistema reprodutor feminino permanece desconhecida, suscitando novas pesquisas. Conclusões: Torna-se notória a possível correlação entre distúrbios emocionais e psicológicos decorrentes da pandemia atual e a alteração nos ciclos menstruais. Ressalta-se o aumento dos sintomas pré-menstruais, dos quadros de dismenorréia, alterações na frequência e duração da menstruação, associados a quadros de estresse, depressão e ansiedade generalizada.

Esta sociedade científica tem entre suas finalidades cultivar e promover o estudo e melhor conhecimento da Epidemiologia, viabilizando os meios adequados para isso, favorecendo a divulgação dos conteúdos e metodologias.Contribuindo desta forma para a promoção da Saúde Pública. Nosso objetivo é criar mais um canal de divulgação de estudos e trabalhos na área de Epidemiologia, para popularizar e divulgar conteúdo científico ajudando na necessidade constante de atualização do conhecimento.Em 2013 o governo da então presidente Dilma Rousseff constatando que o Brasil tinha uma quantidade de médicos que eram insuficientes para atender as necessidades da população, promulgou a Lei 12.871/2013, conhecida como Lei do Mais Médicos, que tinha como objetivo aumentar a quantidade de médicos no nosso pais, e para isso criou ações de curto prazo, como a importação de profissionais de outros países, principalmente médicos cubanos, e para médio e longo prazo previa a abertura de mais vagas e cursos de medicina no Brasil, infelizmente esta lei não foi a frente, contestada na Justiça como a Ação Direta de Constitucionalidade 81 e da Ação Direta de Inconstitucionalidade 7187, e negligenciada pelos governos seguintes, não chegou a surtir efeito. Seis anos depois chega ao mundo a epidemia do Covid-19 e nosso país não estava preparado, tínhamos menos médicos do que o necessário, isso nos levou a perder muito mais vidas do que poderíamos. Na Europa países como Alemanha e França, se perderam 4 vidas para cada 1000 casos, no Brasil perdemos quase 20 vidas para cada 1000 casos, enquanto a Argentina só perdeu 13,4 vidas para cada mil casos, mas lá temos 4 médicos para cada 1000 habitantes, aqui quase a metade disso, no Uruguai há 5 médicos para cada 1000 habitantes e lá apenas 7,6 mortes para cada 1000 casos de Covid-19. Se o Brasil tivesse uma quantidade de médicos igual a da Argentina, e um sistema de saúde semelhante, teríamos salvado mais de 200 mil vidas, se o nosso sistema de saúde e quantidade de médicos fosse igual ao do Uruguai, teríamos salvado mais de 400 mil pessoas. Este é apenas o resultado de um dos capítulos da presente obra.Buscamos com esta obra trazer informações cientificas confiáveis e relevantes para ajudar a salvar vidas, ajudando desta forma na compreensão de diferentes vertentes do processo saúde-doença, todos os capítulos buscam os fatores determinantes de enfermidades e tentam propor medidas de controle e prevenção.
