Rasayana churna was mentioned by Acharya Vagbhatta for rejuvenation of body tissue. Rasayana properties of this combination revitalize the unhealthy tissue on systemic level. Rasayana Churna is a polyherbal formulation contacting 3 ingredients i.e., Amalaki, Guduchi and Gokshura are well known drugs for its rich in antioxidant, immunomodulator and purifactory action. Repeated stress injury in visual system is major cause of Computer Vision Syndrome- a new milliner disorder. A study conducted as randomized clinical trial showed that Rasayan churana significantly improves a group of symptoms in Computer Vision Syndrome. The present study was carried out to standardize the finished product of Rasayana Churna Vati. It includes Authentication, Organoleptic properties, physic-chemical parameters, assay of active and qualitative HPTLC analysis to confirm entity, quality and purity. All results were compared with Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeial standard. The presence of rosette crystals of calcium oxalate, lignified tissues, prismatic crystals, reticulate vessels, starch grains oval, tannins, trichomes were the characteristic features observed in the microscopy of the prepared drug. Phyto-chemical analysis showed Loss on drying 1.87% w/w, Total ash 4.35% w/w, water soluble extract 34.73% w/w, Acid insoluble ash 0.73% w/w, Alcohol soluble extractive 14.34% w/w & pH 3.4. Identification of constituents of Rasayana Churna Vati was done by HPTLC scanning at 254 and 366mm gives positive test for Guduchi, Gokshura and Amalaki.
BACKGROUND The Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and its sequelae Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) continue to be a major cause of cardiac morbidity and mortality in developing countries and diagnosing ARF solely on Jones criteria could lead to under-diagnosis in developing countries. The recent AHA 2015 guidelines highlighted a subgroup of "exceptions to Jones Criteria" for patients with chorea, indolent carditis and previous history of rheumatic fever or "rheumatic heart disease." Such patients may also remain undiagnosed if not properly investigated. Although, the guidelines failed to highlight the role of echocardiography in these subgroups. It is important that suspected population be subjected to echocardiographic screening, as clinical detection of soft murmurs can sometimes be very difficult. Doppler and colour flow mapping is even more sensitive in picking up minor valvular regurgitation. Since in India ARF and RHD continue to be on rampant, we decided to investigate the role of echocardiography in diagnosis of subclinical cases of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in young population of India.
Women are the important pillar for the overall development of the healthy family as well as society. Baladi Churna described by Acharya Bhavprkash in Vandhyatva (infertility). Endometrium dysfunction is the prime cause of Infertility among the world Baladi Churna is useful in patients especially having implantation failure due to defective endometrium, which is known as Kshetra deformity in Ayurveda. So a new pharmaceutical preparation Baladi churna was tried to standardize which is economical in terms of time and machinery usage. The present work was carried out to standardize the finished product of to confirm Baladi Churna entity, quality and purity. The presence of trichomes, spiral vessels, pollen grains were the characteristic features observed in the microscopy of the prepared drug. Phyto-chemical analysis showed Loss on drying 8.24% w/w, ash value 9 %w/w, water soluble extract 46.3 % w/w and pH 6.5. HPTLC of Baladi Churna is the preliminary quantitative analysis which shows 11 prominent spots in UV 254 nm and 10 prominent spots 366 nm. Baladi Churna, a polyherbal formulation of 6 ingredients was prepared and HPTLC finger print profile was developed and it can be considered pharmacopial standard of Baladi Churna.
