Salah satu material yang banyak digunakan pada struktur rangka atap saat ini adalah baja ringan. Kondisi ini dikarenakan ketersediaan kayu yang biasa digunakan pada struktur atap mulai terbatas. Pada struktur baja ringan ini, biasanya menggunakan sekrup sebagai alat sambungnya. Jumlah dan posisi sekrup pada sistem sambungan akan mempengaruhi perilaku struktural sambungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perilaku struktural sambungan sekrup searah dan berlawanan arah pada struktur baja ringan dengan jumlah sekrup 3 buah pada sistem sambungannya. Material yang digunakan sebagai spesimen adalah baja ringan dengan profil berbentuk canal dan ukuran penampang 75 mm x 35 mm x 0,75 mm. Alat sambung yang digunakan adalah self driling screw Ø 5 mm. Karakteristik material diperoleh melalui uji tarik dengan mengacu kepada Annual Book of ASTM Standars 1991 Section 3. Perilaku sambungan struktur baja ringan yang diamati yaitu sekrup pada posisi kepala dan ujung searah dan sekrup pada posisi kepala dan ujung berlawanan arah. Pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Universal Testing Machine. Beban yang diberikan adalah beban statik monotonik yang dilakukan secara bertahap sampai mencapai kondisi ultimitnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa nilai beban ultimit yang diperoleh untuk pemasangan sekrup dengan posisi kepala dan ujung sekrup berlawanan arah lebih besar dari pemasangan sekrup dengan posisi kepala dan ujung sekrup searah. Sementara itu kegagalan struktur yang terjadi adalah jenis kegagalan ‘tilting’ dimana kerusakan terjadi pada lubang sambungan yang menyebabkan sekrup sekrup berotasi pada bidang gaya tarik.
