Prostate cancer has come to share the oncological centrestage among male cancers. The availability of Serum Prostate Specific Antigen, PSA, as a marker has encouraged it's use to diagnose both cancer and cancer recurrence. Some clarity is required about its precise role in clinical practice. The available literature on Prostate Specific Antigen was reviewed; Articles were reviewed for content, applicability to the problem at hand, availability of data about sensitivity and specificity of values, refinements in measurements and finally for impact of screening programmes using these values on survival and quality of life. The data in the literature was critically re-evaluated and analysed to draw reasonable conclusions. Serum PSA measurements show variable reliability when it comes to diagnosis of Prostate cancer, given the dynamics of PSA physiology. Surrogate measures like PSA density, PSA velocity, free-to-complexed PSA ratio, percentage Pro-PSA, etc., have been used to improve the predictive utility of this assay for Prostate cancer. The ability of PSA to detect those cancers that will cost life, and thereby permit early curative treatment, is as yet unclear. It's most definitive role appears to be in diagnosing recurrences after adequate surgical treatment, and in evaluating response to treatment.

The goal of any drug delivery system is to provide a therapeutic amount of drug to the proper site in the body to promptly achieve and then maintain the desired drug concentration. This idealized objective points to the two aspects most important to drug delivery, namely, spatial placement and temporal delivery of a drug. Spatial placement relates to targeting of a drug to a specific organ or tissue, while the temporal delivery refers to controlling the rate of drug delivery to target tissue. An appropriately designed sustained-release drug delivery system can be a major advance towards solving these two problems.

Fixed drug eruption is a common adverse effect seen with various drugs notably antibiotics, antiepileptics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Herein we report a case of Sitagliptin induced fixed drug eruption in a 46 year old female who developed circumscribed, erythematous macules all over the body within one week of initiation of Sitagliptin. The lesions resolved with residual hyperpigmentation on cessation of the drug. The diagnosis was confirmed by an oral provocation test which led to a reactivation of the lesions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of fixed drug eruption to Sitagliptin reported in the literature.

Cutaneous adverse reactions are a common complication of anti-retroviral therapy. Tenofovir is a newer anti-retroviral drug belonging to the nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor group. Systemic adverse effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hepatotoxicity and renal toxicity are common with tenofovir but cutaneous adverse effects are rare. Lichenoid drug eruptions are a common adverse effect seen with a large variety of drugs including antimalarials, antihypertensives, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and diuretics. Lichenoid drug eruption is a rare cutaneous adverse effect of tenofovir with only a single case reported till date. Here, we report a case of tenofovir induced lichenoid drug eruption in a 54-year-old human immunodeficiency virus affected male who presented with generalized lichenoid eruption after 6 weeks of initiation of tenofovir and complete clearance on cessation of the drug.

The current standard method of diagnosing COVID status has low sensitivity which led the authors to ponder on alternative ways of taking the sample. Various studies have explored the role of nasal wash, a sample taken by injecting and aspirating saline with the help of a syringe but to the best of our knowledge, the use of Jal Neti kriya sample to detect coronavirus has not been reported in the literature so far. Jal Neti kriya is an integral part of shatkarmas-six actions of purification of the human body, written in the Yogic system of healthcare. It involves pouring water in one nostril and flushing out through the other nostril with the help of special equipment called ''Neti pot'', to keep the nasal passage clean. The authors find it worthwhile to share their hypothesis, which can pave a way to future research in COVID-19 detection.
