The online learning system in the COVID-19 pandemic has the weakness of limited ability to realize equitable distribution of learning facilities in Indonesia. Therefore, community service activities in the form of introducing the Quizizz learning media were carried out with SDN 1 Sentul teachers and local religious content teachers in Tembelang District. This community service activity is carried out from October to November 2021 which is located at SDN 1 Sentul, Sentul Village, Tembelang District, Jombang Regency. The stages in this activity are observation; material design; and the introduction of Quizizz learning media. The results of the activities showed that (1) Quizizz learning media attracted students' interest in learning; (2) Quizizz learning media is a variation of learning media; (3) Quiziz learning media can make it easier for teachers to convey material and input values. The obstacle in this activity is the internet network which is less stable.
This study provides information about the diversity of pests and predators on organic and non-organic in soybean plantations. This is expected as part of supporting the increase in soybean production in East Java. The diversity of pests and predators are not only influenced by organic or non-organic farming systems, but also on the types of plants being cultivated. Climate also affects the presence of pests and predators. Soybean plants which are included in subtropical plants, when cultivated in a tropical climate, their growth and development are strongly influenced by the tropical climate, which will have an impact on plant resistance to pest attacks. Predators are affected by the presence of pest attacks on their host plants. Meanwhile, the attraction of predators to come to the host plant can be caused by the emergence of volatile compounds released from the saliva of insect pests and also the interaction between these compounds and those released by plants when attacked by pests.
Family food security is the main support for the sustainability of human life, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Increasing access to nutritious food sources for families can be pursued by implementing microgreens cultivation at the household scale. The objectives of this training are to improve the skills of the residents regarding the use of used bottles as a medium for growing microgreens and microgreens cultivation techniques. The method used is a community empowerment method consisting of demonstrations and training. Evaluation of the training showed that the understanding of residents'of the Abadi Megah Regency, Jombang on how to use used plastic bottles increased from 23% to 95% and there was an increase in the skills of residents in processing used plastic bottles as microgreens planting media from 24% to 94%. In addition, this training not only increased residents' understanding of how to cultivate microgreens from 17% to 95% but also increased the skills of residents in microgreens cultivation from 2% to 69%.
A field study aims to determine the diversity and potential utilization of weed vegetation that grows after rice planting. This research was carried out in paddy fields after monoculture rice planting in Penggaron Village, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency in July - September 2020. Sampling was based on the quadratic sampling method with sample plots arranged randomly. In each plot the data taken is the name, number and canopy (area of cover) of each plant species to determine density, dominance and frequency. Data analysis includes vegetation analysis to determine Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) and biodiversity analysis calculated using the Shannon - Wienner diversity index. The results of this study were 26 types of weed vegetation were found in post-rice planting land. The dominant vegetation types include Oryza sativa L .; Limnocharis flava (L.) Buchenav; Phyllanthus urinaria L .; Monochoria vaginalis (Burm.f.) pressl; and Cleome viscosa L with an SDR value of ≥ 5.30%. A total of 15 types of weeds have the potential to be used as a source of food, animal feed, and traditional medicine.
The development of residential areas in the Jombang Regency can increase global warming, so it needs urban greening in the area. The green environment can be done by developing an environmentally friendly urban agricultural system with 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) waste management. The skills of residents must support the utilization of domestic waste, so this is required adequate training activities. This training aimed to (1) increased the knowledge and skills of the residents in processed, domestic waste into compost and liquid organic fertilizer; (2) increased the knowledge and skills of residents in processed inorganic waste as a plant's pot; and (3) increased the spirit of citizens to live clean and healthy. This community service activity was carried out from 24 to July 26, 2020, with partner residents of the Bahrul Ulum Menara Asri, Jombang Regency. The program results showed that 76 percent of residents understood how to processed waste into compost, liquid organic fertilizer, and planting pots. Eighty-six percent of participants stated that the instructor's performance was very good, 88 percent of residents admitted that this training was useful in improving their skills in processed, domestic waste, and 86 percent of the participants planned to carry out waste processing practices in their homes.
